I mean not just like a little kid but like Transforming it or do you just put it on somewhere like a mini statue without even removing it from its box?

I enjoy transforming them but I also put most of them to display.

Yes as in transform them, pose them, change displays around. No as in running down the road shouting Pew Pew Pew and smashing Megatron into Optimus. My bad knee doesn't allow me to run:D

    Play? Nope.

Take out of box and pose on shelf. Yes. I don't count that as playing though. Playing is running around a room with two sides lined up occasionally smashing two opposing side figures together in a fight.

    Sorta!
I like to making opposing sides and line up 1 Autobot for every 1 Decepticon. Every day( or so) I flip a coin and depending on which side it lands, I either "kill" off an Autobot or Decepticon ( Each time I flip the coin I alternate which side gets heads and which side gets tails). I pretty much do this untill one side loses. There are a few special rules here and there but that's pretty much it.

When I ever get the time/space, it's nice to put them in poses for photographs, especially as if in combat. I'd love to spend an afternoon putting an entire line of Transformers (be it CHUG, movie, or Prime) in a warzone scenario with bits of cover and stuff creatively made from cardboard and other bits of junk.

But the chances of that are increasingly remote.

I'd like to play with them, I think they SHOULD be played with, and it gets my wick when there are those out there who only collect to put these things on a shelf forever for the sake of display cuz, to me, that's what statues and other static pieces are for. As is though, between having way too many TFs to do a great deal much with and the paranoia I have over breaking another one just for trying to transform it(this happens a lot) most of them end up stuck on the shelves or in a box pretty much indefinitely :(

I meant transforming or examining the figure by playing, not playing like a 5 year old kid. Sorry my post was not clear enough.

I think for a lot of collectors 'play' is setting a little scene/narrative up and doing toy photos to share online. That's what it is for me anyway.

I'll take them down, pose them mess around with them, 1 figure at a time. What I would like to do is is create a diorama and set them up. I want 2 different ones, one of the arc (inside/outside) and one of the Nemesis (inside/outside) and then one of the plains for the Beast Wars.. Each set should be about 4'x2' wide at least.

I've done all out wars (standing/posing multiple bots in a scene then taking pics) in my basement, living room. Only once in our bedroom but the wife woke up and started laughing. I didn't have the kids to blame at that point.

Desk toys! I always have a selection on my desk or with me on the couch if I'm playing video games to transform or otherwise mess around with.

Which really isn't any different from how we played as children. We've just slowed down to consider the drama.

I can remember as a boy playing out a scene or a battle in a series of revisions (like multiple takes in fimling), whittling the action down until I was satisfied to move on to the next plot.

This was a different sort of playing that I did without company. When playing with my brothers/friends it was far more important to remain extemporaneous and not interrupt the flow.

I love seeing the photo montages that folks constuct here. For me, these are the most persuasive form of advertising for this merchandise around. Often, seeing a particular toy in a compelling photo shoot will incite my desire to own said toy, so that I can play out a similar scenario on the desk at home.

No i set up poses for photos and generally mess with them but dont play any games like I did when I was a kid. I just display them and change things around the odd time.

I do wish I had CW Megatron as a kid because no doubt he wouldve been played with to death lol
