I'm just wondering because I see images online that include them in package. Were these images previews before the actual release, but the end result was they didn't include them? For voyagers and deluxes? Did all of the Henkei (deluxe or voyager) have cards?
No card, just a heavily photoshopped action scene on the back of the packaging with a text biography.
Not sure if some of the special editions of Henkei came with cards (like Strafe off hand), special editions of thundercracker, skywarp, Trust, and dirge did. All the regular releases (at least that I had), missing about 5 came with cards. Can't remember on United off hand, didn't Jazz come with an animated Jazz card for some reason? Edit: Strafe came with a card.
Yeah Henkei came with cards, i am still hunting for a Skywarp card. My United Classics Bee does not have the UN-07 on his instruction sheet which i find odd. Can anyone check their instructions for me?
Were all three United Jazz the exact same figure? If so, was it a factory mistake for not putting a card in the third Jazz figure you have? Did it depend on the wave release? Funny, some say United came with cards, some say they didn't.
^Yea, I am not sure, and it has been so long ago that all of mine are packed away. It sucks, but you may have to google search each one with different phrases to find out for sure. Here is the Jazz one: http://static.seibertron.com/images/news/gfx/1296224885_5395094739_84c1c4feca.jpg Strangely, here are two of Megs, one looks to have a card (or something), one doesn't. Don't know if one was opened, or if it is hit or miss: IMG_0062.jpg Photo by Nullray | Photobucket http://static.seibertron.com/images/toys/transformers-united/IMG_0634a.jpg Wish I could help more. I can barely remember yesterday, let alone a couple years back most of the time.
well at this point we can say even if the United did come with cards or not (as seen in pics provided) they aren't for the actual United characters but instead for their animated counterparts which were used in some card scanning video game over in Japan. So I really wouldn't worry about it. Henkei on the other hand came with cards for the actual toy that was in the package and had bios and pictures of the actual character.
All Henkei figures released during the original run came with cards, including exclusives. Figures like Thundercracker, Skywarp, the two exclusive Coneheads & Wildrider came with monochromatically colored versions of the cards that came with their mold predecessors (though at least Dirge & Thrust used images of the actual figures, thanks to the remolding). (The only one I'm not really sure of, given the belated nature of its release, is that recent CybertronCon exclusive Jetfire in Henkei packaging - I'd assume it just reuses the original Jetfire card or has another monochromatically colored one, but I don't own it & haven't seen a loose sample before, so I can't say for sure.) United figures with cards were hit & miss; the ones that did came with bio cards of what was usually their Animated counterpart, I think tied to some Animated game in Japan? It wasn't consistent from release to release though, and in the end more United figures came without cards than those that did.
Were they 'hit & miss' because of factory packaging problem, or because some waves had them included and earlier/later waves didn't? Specifically, I have a loose United Megatron Voyager (redeco of Classics Meg), and United Tracks (with the flame on the hood). Did these come with cards? Even though I don't have the box, I'd like to have everything else complete. Anyone know the answers to the above two questions?
No factory mistakes; just the random figures Takara opted to include cards for. I don't own United Megs, so I can't speak to that figure. I do own Tracks and don't recall any card coming with it.
