    Hey, everybody.

You guys may remember me as the dude who was asking about which version of Universe Cyclonus was the better one. We settled on the Battle in Space/Challenge at Cybertron version - and for the record, I did end up picking one up! It's sitting now on my shelf, looking quite awesome.

So, yes, I own Universe Cyclonus. Now, moving on. Usually, I don't go back on an opinion once I set one. Usually. But...

My opinion towards Combiner Wars Cyclonus at first was, "ew, Silverbolt retool, barely anything has changed, doesn't even have new weapons, waste of money, blegh." But three factors have actually changed my view on the figure:

    1. A lot of people say it's actually a good figure in hand.
    2. The new Reprolabels for it look spectacular.
    3. He scales better with the newly-revealed Titans Return Galvatron.

So, that last factor is currently the main driving point behind my question, and my currently muddled thoughts. It's pretty much a given that 90% of us collectors will be getting that Galvatron, and given that Galvatron needs his troops, we need to decide who exactly we're going to display with him.

With Scourge you have the old Generations Scourge - which looks and sounds like a fantastic fig, though I have yet to get him - and the rumored Titans Return Scourge, which is said to be a Deluxe, accurate to the 1986 Movie design, and possibly even a Targetmaster.

With Cyclonus, you have the Universe version, or the CW version.

Universe Cyclonus is fantastic, and pretty tall for a Deluxe, with great weaponry; but CW Cyclonus is much closer to Galvatron in scale, not to mention of a closer color scheme. And his Reprolabels are pretty beast. Yes, I do consider that a high point of a figure (thought not a natural part of the figure...). However, Universe Cyclonus just feels... better-proportioned overall, thin legs and biceps aside. And he's an original mold designed for the character, not just a repaint.

    Thus my conundrum.

So, would any of you who have CW Cyclonus/both molds like to give me your opinions? For those who got lost in my rambling, I basically have two questions: 1) Is CW Cyc worth the money, and if so, 2) would he be better for display with TR Galvatron than the Universe Cyc?

Collecting with a budget like mine means I need to ask these questions first, buy second. ;)
Thanks to everybody willing to help!

    (And yes, poll. Because polls!)

EDIT: Before anyone asks! Whichever one becomes my display option... yes, the other one will probably become the "Armada". But please don't say things like "GET BOTH, FOR CYC AND ARMADA!", because that's not why I would have both in the first place.

I will forever use the rts 2 pack figure. Deco is great and he is just barely to small. For a deluxe he is pretty big. The plane mode is cool for the Cw but the robot mode to me doesn't fit.

I'd say I'm a fan of the CW figure. He sarisfies my need for a Cyclonus in the proper scale, and is kinda G1 toy accurate. (A big winner in my book.)
Plus he can combine with whoever you want! His jet mode is nice and big though a tad blocky. So I can see how that can turn some off. I thi k Cyclonus's cons are easily outweighed by his Pros.

Also, I know we have a rumor or TR Scourge, but I'd bet good moe y that it will be a redeco/new head of Sentinel/Astrotrain based of the fact that the spaceship mode is... Scourge's spaceship mode, plus there are some robot mode similularities. Think about it, we've gotten a lot of groups in the same classes as of late. A 86' con trio in Voyager scale makes plenty sense.
    Just throughing that out there.

combiner wars cyclonus is actually pretty decent, they did a good job remolding him and considering i bought silverbolt for superion and keep him combined most of the time and i got cyclonus to be himself and have never combined him they dont really feel all that similar to me. plus if you are willing to spend the extra money you can buy viper and give him to cyclonus as a targetmaster partnet (granted viper is a bit big for a voyager)

    Which would be nobody...?

I like RTS for the Targetmaster. And the RTS robot doesn't have an entire airplane sitting on its back. But...I like CW alt mode better. And CW will obviously scale better. It's a tough decision.

Considering you're on a budget and everything else, that would probably be enough to tip me towards CW. Easier to get.

Oh, make no mistake - I already own Universe Cyclonus.

It's why my question(s) wasn't "Which version to get?", but rather, "Which is better for display?" and "Is CW Cyclonus worth the money in the first place?"

I mentioned budget merely as a reason why I keep asking these questions.

Rts is pretty tall for a deluxe I would go with him. I have bought two of the cw version the first I gave to my kids and the second I returned for store credit today. I love silverbolt but there is just something wrong with cw cyclonus the head is too small for the body for one thing.

See, problem being, I'm a nearly-hardcore scale nut. My Autobot cars/Decepticon jets need to be Deluxe; my leader characters and large warriors need to be Voyager; my powerhouses and larger-than-everybody-else characters need to be Leader. (Only exceptions to his rule of mine are the old CHUG Powerglide and Seaspray, who I felt were awesome at that large of a size). It's why I refuse to buy Leader Megatron and Seekers - like the molds though I do, they're too big.

With the new TR Galvatron, he's Voyager. Great! But that means Cyclonus needs to be the same size and Scourge a tad smaller, since that's how the scale works. So Scourge as a Deluxe works, but Cyclonus as one really doesn't - even if he's taller than most.

It's actually five bucks off already on Hasbro's eBay store, but I just went on a major online shopping spree and don't have much money left. So this is more of an "in the future" question anyhow.

I'm quite a fan of CW Cyclonus, particularly because his shade of purple and scale looks great with my 1st version Mania King. I'm sure he'll look just as good alongside CW Galvatron.

Maybe its just me, but I think CW Cyclonus looks fantastic in both modes, retool or not. One of my favorites from the line for sure.

How big exactly is Mania King? Roughly above Voyager, right?

For Display purposes I'd be perfectly fine to stand CW Cyclonus next to TR Glavatron... both ugly and carrying superfluous gimmicks that will never be utilized!

    CW.

rts cyclonus was always really ugly to me. CW looks amazing and i'm desperately trying not to cave on him.

    Rts/Universe Cyclonus.
That one looks much more like Cyclonus to me. I had the CW version in my hands, and couldn't get myself to buy it, because imo it doesn't look that much like Cyclonus.

I have the Battle in Space Cyclonus and I'm satisfied with it. I'm not really interested in the CW one.
