This has been simmering inside me for a while an now the time has come to let it out.

We have been spoiled by Hasbro/Takaratomy and ruined by the 3rd party companies.

HasTaktomy has made so many wonderful improvements and innovations we have been spoiled by them and come to take them for granted to the point of many of us going straight to complaining when some of these things are lacking in a figure. wrist swivels in Titans Return Galvatron for example.

I have noticed few of us try to understand why Hasbro did not include the feature that is missing. was it purely a budgetary choice or was it forced by a design choice or did the over all engineering leave no room for it to be included?

Hollow limbs, we have been seeing these for years now and its high time we get over them and not complain so much about them. No the do not look as good as a fully enclosed limb but times change and we must change with them. I hope one day Hastak goes back to fully enclosed limbs but for now we just have to accept that its the way things are.

The 3rd party has ruined us by giving many of us unreasonable expectations for what a figure should be. The 3rd party figures are indeed excellent I own a few myself. ( Fansproject function x Chromedome, a headsrobot snake headmaster used on my beat up G1 scorponok and the i gear sharkticon trio)

So many see to forget that Hasbro and Takara's budget per figure cannot match wants spent on a single 3rd party figure when its single figure being produced at that time by the 3rd party companies. The prices of a third party figure bear this out. Mind I do know 3rd party companies have challenges that Hastak does not face.

Many also forget the 3rd party companies do not have to deal with restriction hatak has to deal with when it comes to toy safety laws.

if you really want a fair comparison let's see a 3rd party company develop a figure with the same budget hasbro or takara gives for one of the same size class as well as work under the same restrictions for toy safety laws. I suspect the figure created by the third party company would be much closer to Hastaks than what they normally produce.

In conclusion we all need to lighten up analyse what we are presented with and try to understand why the figures were designed they way they were before we run them down.

    /end Rant

my problems with why i'm not getting a bunch aren't because of 3rd party transformers. honestly, two are. I prefer unique toys mania king and soundmixer more. If I didn't already have Mania king, I probably would get Titan Wars Galvatron. He looks like a great figure. But I already have a really good Galvatron and I like him a lot. Blaster, I'm not getting because he is too big. I prefer that Soundmixer is a smaller sized, large deluxe than a voyager. He is close to G1 soundwave's size and G1 Soundwave is my goto soundwave. The deluxes I'm not getting again not because I feel the hastak production is shotty, but I already have most of the G1 headmasters and I want to keep a continuity with them. i do plan on getting the "just the heads" packs, i like how they look and I'll repurpose them as human figures from other sources

I might just be biased because I am seriously digging the entire line, but the feedback I've been seeing has been overwhelmingly positive considering how unpleasable a fanbase we are.

Careful; after SDCC I said maybe we should all be a little more positive, and I was told to go fornicate myself with an iron stick.

I think it has been more positive fan reaction than when Devastator was revealed... LOL, that was brutal... and I was one of them!

Blaster looks amazing, I hope no one passes on him just due to size. The deluxe Headmasters look great. Galvatron is okay, might not be my cup of tea, very IDW...

    So... did you? ;)

On topic, just remember, a lot of the rabid 3P supporters are only like that because they can't bear it if it looks like their 'investment' was a waste of money.

If you like and enjoy your 3P toys, more power to you (I have a few myself) but don't deny me my opinion.

    So yeah, just ignore them.

You had me up to here:

Nope, sorry, that's bullshit. We shouldn't be expected to welcome a regression in toy design with open arms.

I don't think it's a matter of welcoming it, but a matter of acceptance. Personally, I dislike some of the more hollow-looking designs, but complaining on the internet won't change them.
The ONLY way to properly protest is to not buy them.

I never said welcome. I said accept and move on. to me it's just not worth getting bent out of shape especially as almost unfailingly someone will put out filler pieces for those hollows. I admitted I prefer enclosed limbs.

I just think its time to get over the angst over hollow limbs.

But this is a forum, a place to exchange opinions. I understand the complaints about posters being repetitive aggressive assholes about asserting their one opinion, positive or negative. But if they don't like a toy for a specific reason, this is the exact medium to voice that.

I also can't stand these people anymore. This is already the best reveal since introduction of classics in 2006 and people complain like the sissies they are. The worst are people complaining who bought fake transformers from third parties and keep complaining. They don't even support Transformers when buying third parties and have the fucking nerve to complain? Really? Hasbro gives us all the time what we wish for in the recent years and people are still not satisfied.

This is the best time to be a transformers fan ever. Except for the many people who will come here only to batch around all the time. It's sooo unrealistic with some, that you could think they are paid to be negative in all these threads.

This is not even nitpicking anymore, which we all do, this is just craziness.

I'm excited about the reveal. I skipped out on Megatron, but I'm definitely getting Galvatron.

If you don't want to see anymore complaints then get off the internet.

Sorry, but that's the only way to get away from it.

It's a really nice theme this year, a very welcome theme. I like the headmasters themselves and will buy them along with some deluxes if possible. As much as i like them for the most part to me they are tinged with sadness because here is hasbro doing these characters/themes that dont often get a run out and the execution of the toys is so ruled by cost cutting. Yeah i could get a bunch of headmasters but how good are they going to be if they feel like budget items and everytime you look at them you see the gaping hollow(they are not legends class you will notice)? I understand that these days we know we have something new every year, lucky us, and companies do make things knowing it's just a toy for this year. There is nothing really wrong with that i don't think but when that dispossable notion is so pronounced in looking at the toy it is a shame. We sub consciously all know it is the way it is but we don't want to acknoweldge that because we look forward to product as being the thing we always wanted. Some of the new stuff is excellent for doing the character but also excellent in conforming to this very tight budget. The toys are disadvantaged for that, perhaps in future Hasbro will have options for upgrading your own toys for those willing to pay more for a more complete product.
