hasbro always has a problem with sizing their figures. i mean.. in dotm we finally get an earth mode megatron, but they gave us a voyager megatron and a leader class bumblebee.

combiner wars, they gave us a garbage voyager prime and a big leader class megatron.

sense is not something hasbro takes into consideration when deciding sizes.

This. IMO most Leaders are too at of scale with Generations figures, and most scale well with MP and are cheaper too. My Blaster will be going on my MP shelf, like Gen Jetfire and Megatron (when I get them)

i think the truth is; brightly colored hero bots sell better than villains.

i actually suspect/expect a soundwave remold down the line.

Well, they both are triple changers and are headmasters at heart, but one is meant to have a base mode that connects to other compatible figure's base modes and carry at least one of the modernized mini-cassette bots in his chest, while the other one doesn't.

Also, voyagers might be taller than the original voyagers seen in the Generations line before, so yeah.

They have upped the sizes a bit. Voyager is quite big now.

Anytime the scale question comes up I have to chuckle. Transformers have never ever been scaled correctly. I am a bit obsessive compulsive and so details usually bother me, but I had G1 toys and when a cassette player was bigger than a semi truck, I've known all my life that transformers were never going to be scaled correctly.

Blaster is big so that the boombox mode is better sized, so that the base is useful for more figures and so that cassettes can be larger and sturdier. You're stuck on a flavour perspective with focus on the comparative scale of the robot mode when Blaster's decisions were made with different concerns in mind. It makes sense, just not from the perspective of someone buying these toys to replicate cartoons and comics.

Whether this is good or bad is up to anyone but it isn't nonsensical.

I am ok with Galvatron being a voyager. My scale is normal bots can be as big or smaller than a Dinobot.

The fun thing about Blaster as a leader class is his boombox mode will be pretty close to a real boombox. Hell, he should be packaged in that mode just to really mess with people who see it on the shelf.

Also, Galvatron as a voyager means he'll be more affordable and easier to find. So good on him for that.

I have to say that the Blaster isn't appealing to me mostly due to the large size. I'll stick with the FOC Voyager for now.

I'm not too big on Blaster, the weird size, the overall aesthetic, but man oh man that Galvatron :lol

A voyager Galvatron is just perfect for me. He scales with CW Optimus (that cannon is just some made up sci fi thing, so there isn't a set scale), but next to leader Armada Megatron, he'll look pretty pathetic. :lol

And everyone getting so uptight about him being a leader, and then turning out to actually BE a Voyager :lol

    This thing is hillarious :lolol

I'd prefer Blaster to be a Voyager-class figure for sure, but his G1 toy was rather large, so a large, colorful Leader-Class Blaster would be in the realm of scale. I like his look so will probably pick him up, although it will take me a bit to get my brain around him being a headmaster...

I'm not so sure about Galvatron though. Some of pictures make me drool, and others make me less interested.

What this likely means though, is no MP Blaster or Galvatron in 2016...

I can dig it!! G1 Blaster is pretty big. I do wish galvatron would've been a leader and the head masters would've been voyagers...but overall...I'm happy.

My brain just short-circuited thinking more about this issue...is "Blaster" really Leader-scale, or is "Blaster" really a micro-master headmaster component that plugs into a Leader-scale host body? And for that matter, is the headmaster supposed to be micro-master scale, or are we supposed to imagine that the head is a thirty-foot tall robot, and that the body is a 300 foot tall "Titan?" But then what do we do with the boombox mode? And what scale is Rewind supposed to be?
If you think mass-shifting is complicated, this is a real mental-maze...

On the other hand, I much prefer the robot-is-its-own-head approach to headmasters to the narrative problems that robots-having-people-living-in-their heads produced.

No. According to the preview video last night, Blaster's Titan Master is Twincast.

    The head to Blaster?
On the bio card in the news posting of yesterday's preview display, it had the head called Twincast.
Rewind is the Legends toy that turns into a tank and data-recorder.

Yes. It's Twincast. I edited my post and it shows edited to me, but with the Gateway issues it looks like it didn't take.
