    Hey all!

I figured this was going to be the place to ask and get a good answer:

Did anyone pick up the Optimus Prime MP-10 reissue when it came out a few months back? I've got an MP-1 and the Hasbro MP-1 version but part of me still wants to go for it and get the MP-10 (which I missed the first time around).

Any opinions on this one? The robot mode looks much more screen accurate (I think?) but I've still got concerns. If you go to TFSource, it has 2 less than stellar reviews. Bad joints and seams, loose fingers....just sounds like a big box of heartache.

I know *most* people will write reviews when things are bad but if it's good they're less likely to do so. Maybe those two were flukes or it is just a crappy QC reissued product?

If someone bought one and has an opinion I'd love to hear it. I could easily get by with MP-1 but it IS Prime and I can justify to myself to get a better one.

    Thanks!

I have the 2013 reissue and the QC is simply stellar.

Yeah I heard that too. This is the one that came out like 2-3 months back though...I think it's a different batch

    MP-10 - Masterpiece Optimus Prime - Reissue

I don't always take reviews to heart (I got a killer Kronos / Skyfire at home that is damn close to perfect) but the reviews in that link are what are making me paranoid.

i got both reissues (hasbro and takara). both are fine. yes, the fingers will pop off if you pull them, but i wouldn't say it's a qc issue. they are just tiny parts...how strong do you expect them to be? qc issues are more like joints that won't stay up, or things breaking or not fitting well. these have no such problems for me. this and soundwave are *almost* perfect transformers.

Any comparisons of MP-1 vs MP-10? Huge difference?

The difference is they are completely different figures to the point where you'd be comparing apples and oranges.

You've already got MP-1 so no need to go into that. MP-10 is much shorter, not as heavy, does not have electronics. The rest can be seen just by looking at pictures.

IMO, MP-10 (Takara) is the better looking figure, fits with the current MP line. I have a first release and have no QC issues. From what I've heard from others, the quality has been above average if not better on their copies from first run to the latest re-issue.

You can still get the Hasbro version on BBTS for a little cheaper. Also its more akin to G1 with the colors.

The Vector Sigma one? I saw that. I've actually been flipping back and forth trying to decide which is more "toon" like. LOL

I got the Hasbro reissue with vector sigma. He is sick! As someone mentioned earlier fingers do pop off if pressure is applied but in the grand scheme of things overall he is amazing!

I got the reissue from June, and that guy us as solid as can be. I honestly think they refined the mold before reissuing him.

The index finger will pop off on all versions of this mold, or more specifically, all versions of that hand design (same thing happens with Soundwave's hands). It really should have been pinned.

I have the latest Takara reissue and the only issue is it's the only figure I have popped a finger off of (never for Soundwave or any of my KFC/XTB hands) and the paint application is sloppy around the abs (can see plastic underneath). It's a bit tight around some areas like the chrome bumper that scare me during transformation that I'm going to scrape it. One of my wipers has the piece that they never cut off so it sticks up. Other than that, the other issues from before like gappiness and loose shoulders are not apparent on mine.

If you like OP, I'd say go for it. If you don't care about the trailer, I'd heavily consider taking a look at the KO version.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I'm going to get one. It's just nice to hear that it's not all negatives you know?
