Anyone getting the Hot Toys Optimus Prime?

    I was able to get one of the exclusive versions with Starscream's head.
    It's supposed to be shipping within the next week.

    Glad you like it, but as cool as Hot Toys stuff generally is, I just don't get the appeal of this. Non-transforming, I don't really have a problem with - there's a place for statues and PVC figures and what not, for sure - but when it doesn't even look better than MP-01 or MP-10, what's the point? And it's not like it's cheap, either.

    Sorry for raining on your parade - that's cool that you like it and are excited and everything. Just my opinion, after all. :)

    Actually, I owe you a thanks. I just went back and looked at it again compared to the masterpiece and I agree with you. I can buy a LOT of Combiner Wars figures for what that thing would've cost. I canceled my order.

    There's lots of terrific Hot Toys out there, I just don't think this is one of them. And the Starscream accessories are just weird...

    Your collection count went from just going up by 1 to going up by at least 15. A hot toys saved is a combiner wars plethora earned.

    Highly recommend MP-10 if available.

    HT Prime (1 figure) is $344.99 on BBTS minus shipping. In contrast, UW Superion+UW Devastator (11 figures not counting combiner forms) is $354.98.

    The cash wasted on a nontransforming hyperexpensive figure can be used to purchase...
    7 CW Leaders
    11 CW Voyagers
    19 CW Deluxes/RID2015 Warriors
    24 CW Legends
    or mixed and matched for 3 CW combiners and 1 Voyager

    Wow, that's expensive even for Hot Toys! Crazy...

    They definitely have a following though... Seems like they can get away with anything.

    Only way I'd get it is if I won the lottery... and even then it would be really low on my list of purchases.

    I don't care how rich I am, I don't think I'd ever get this. I might get back into Hot Toys generally, though. Maybe pick up that Don Corleone I stupidly passed up when it was first released. :)

    Price on hot toys op in here was like 500$, i got my mp 10 takara for 170$. I tried weighing if the Hot toys is worth x3 mp 10 takara and there's no way in hell.

    I have the HT Optimus with Starscream parts. It's nice, but possibly not worth the price. In all honesty, I can't remember what prompted me to order it, I think it was the pure WTF-ness of the Screamer parts combined with my general addiction to Hot Toys stuff :)
