Anyhoo.... What do you think are the chances that these two oddly colored combiners will get box sets to go along with the other neon Scramble city (Scrambleon?) homages?

Anyhow, I'd love an ORANGE G2 CW Devastator. Don't need him in yellow though (and I'd prefer the purple parts get changed to some other color).

Defensor will get G2 colors.

I think we will see Combaticons in G2 colors, 2000 Car Robots "Commando" cartoon colors from Takara, and maybe in the colors of the 2001 RiD Hasbro toy colors (like the tank in that crazy light blue).

Also, I think the fact that G2 Superion and Menasor use Slingshot and Wildrider and Defensor and (potentially) Bruticus ALSO have members that are swapped out for the "proper" limb, we will get the G2 reveals of these, or even the news that they aren't happening, when the status of UW Groove and (potentially) Blast-off is announced by Hasbro US.

 

I'm going to be really disappointed if we don't get those two G2 sets. Especially with Menasor and Superion already announced. I'll have the shelf space allocated just for some dope ass G2 combiners. Don't let us down, Hasbro!

I also think that Bruticus has more of a chance of seeing a G2 repaint, at least at mass retail. G2 Devy and Defensor I can see ending up as Convention exclusives

 

I would count on G2 Bruticus more than G2 Defensor, though with us getting an unreleased figure like G2 Menasor, I like our chances of both. Guess it probably depends on how well the other sets sell (which I don't see being a problem). I will be double dipping on each.

 

I think they're a bit off. Assuming TT makes a new Blast Off mold as they've hinted, I think people will flip their shit when they announce G2 Defensor and Bruticus using the new molds, yet not a Hasbro regular version of them.

 

I think there is a good chance. I'd love for it to happen. I just hope 1) they release Groove and the highly probable shuttle mode Blas Off the same way they did for Slingshot and Wild Rider, before or at the same time the announce they G2 sets that come with the "proper" team members. The only hold up is G2 Defensor having 2 grooves...

 

I'm not getting my hopes up. If the first two sell very well, of course there's a better chance. But I feel like they're far from a sure thing.

 

Echoing off these two comments, I think the odds of a G2 set are identical to the odds that we get a US release of Groove and Blast Off*. I definitely don't think there will be a G2 Defensor set with Rook in it**.

*Presuming there is a new mold Takara Blast Off, of course

**The only reason I'm not definitely saying "No" on G2 Bruticus w/o a new Blast Off is that Hasbro has so many redeco options for Bruticus that they have more incentive with him to roll with their Blast Off for the redeco game if they can't get a Takara Blast Off - Energon Bruticus Maximus, multiple RID decos, G2 deco, etc. as various exclusive retailer and convention exclusives

 

100% likely they will happen...because...IF HasTakTom don't for some reason...do them...I can't see the club passing the opportunity up...the question will be more whether Rook & AerialBlast will be in the sets or Groove & Blast-Off...???...

 

Don't want to say that they won't happen, but it is rather dependent on if Hasbro is willing to do another exclusive for Groove and Blast-Off. Right now Defensor could still easily happen. All members are present(maybe not at the scale everyone wants) and they'd just need a G2 deco for Rook, much in the same vein as Powerglide or Blackjack.

Considering how quickly Quickslinger and to a lesser extent Brake-neck sold, I don't think hasbro would have issues getting online sites to carry a Dlx Groove and Blast-Off(especially him) release.

 

I'm so confident we'll see a G2 CW Defensor that I have even used my Botcon 2010 Streetstar (aka G2 Streetwise) as custom fodder - everyone else's has just gone up in value  

 

I always thought that a G2 Menasor would be a club exclusive, because you know, G2 BREAKDOWN is their mascot.

But really, I'm not sure. We need the Dlx Groove mold for Defensor, and they did a G2 Bruticus with the FOC mold. So I dunno.

I think Hasbro would be foolish not to consider at least a G2 Defensor since the original unreleased versions are pretty hot items. Realistically though, it will probably depend how well CW G2 Superion and Menasor do.

What would be sad or awesome is a CW G2 Defensor set being the US debut of the deluxe Groove mold.
