With some of the transformers prime molds making their way into classics/generations (Botcon Megatron, Drone BAT, etc), could deluxe Soundwave from the Prime line fit into CHUG as an updated version of the character?

 

no. It looks nothing like G1 Soundwave.

 

You mean like just re-release Prime Soundwave?

I always thought Prime Ratchet, with heavy retooling, would make an excellent vehicular Soundwave myself. (And RID Strongarm, retooled, would make an excellent MTMTE Ratchet!)

 

Transformers Prime is my updated G1. Sure, lots of missing characters...but the toys and the show were so awesome that I'm okay with the missing links.

yes. But I prefer Device Label Blaster.

 

Personally I wouldn't. Just doesn't look right to me. But I won't judge others if they want to.

 

I currently use Prime Shockwave and Bulkhead for my CHUG display. Do what you want.

 

There's absolutely zero design aesthetics that are similar between Prime Soundwave and G1 Soundwave beyond their headcrests, so I really don't think they work even in the slightest. If you're desperate for a CHUG Deluxe Soundwave, WFC is a good fit and if you're really desperate then Animated is even a better choice then Prime.

But with Leader Soundwave on its way why bother?

I like my bh soundwave as a update for a pretender or headmaster or targetmaster you will know it once you have worked it out

We can't be certain on the size but there is a Blaster on the way and the chances of any Blaster not being retooled into Soundwave is next to nothing.

Best Soundwave is still g1 Soundwave for chug imo. One of the better g1 figures for articulation and doesn't look out of place. Either that or FOC Soundwave. Easy enough to pick up a new reissue for nominal amounts.

and to the original question, you can have anything you want in your display. I have Prime Kup in my display as CHUG Kup. and I have RiD15 sideswipe as my chug windcharger

 

There's FOC Voyager Soundwave. You can repurpose that as G1 Soundwave.

 

You could try to use GO Soundwave, the beast hunters version with g1 colors (and still cheap to import on Amazon)

 

Personally, I'd say no...too small for Soundwave as far as my wants...and...no deployer interaction besides the bird drone...*with that being said I am only sharing why I wouldn't use that Soundwave as my CHUG Soundwave...not that you shouldn't*...I do like the mold...and...would like to see Botanica released from the club using it...

FOC Blaster works for me...atleast for now...I'd prefer more of an earth mode...I do like the deployer interaction though...

Not sure how I feel about Soundwave being a base

 

All evidence of Blaster indicates that it'll be a triple-changer; Base, robot, and boombox. If you don't like the base mode, you can ignore it.

Really, I like Prime Soundwave but it's just 100% unrelated to G1 Soundwave. I'd be about as likely to make FE Optimus Prime a CHUG Soundwave... the head's a closer fit, at least.
