I always thought that WFC Optimus Prime was hard as hell to transform without the instructions.

ROTF Deluxe Skids is a PITA.

It is almost impossible to get the roof/windshield/rear window flip hinge to line up and work. I got him right once and he hasn't gone back as a car since.

I blame the fact I was 13 at the time, but I transformed the Car Brothers all ONCE and they've never gone back. That's my favorite TF line, but...good LORD are those guys a pain. The Build Team? No sweat. Fire Convoy? All day! But the brothers are all weirdly fussy and and particular, and I never much enjoyed transforming any of them.

And don't get me STARTED on the goddamn JRX trains...

Any of the new aoe of rid one steps are an absolute pitta. Just don't go there....

Yer the 2000 rid deluxe cars series are a pain.

Nothing compares to XTB Apollyon though. A combination of a very difficult transformation and the breakability factor.

It's by no means ROTF Optimus complex, but like ROTF Jetfire, trying to get all the panels to line up, as well as trying to get the arms and legs into the exact right position, is a pain in the ass

Human Alliance Leadfoot gives me a lot of trouble.

Sideburn I can transform in my sleep, though, I love that toy.

I think I read that Generations Voyager Whirl has knee ratchets that will be problematic down the line? Staying in robot mode for me.

I did this guy to robot and back with no instructions just fine. After the ranting and raving I've heard on the forums for years, I was kinda disappointed that it was so easy.

ROTF deluxe Ironhide on the other hand was frustrating.
I can't for the life of me get Prime Smokescreen/Prowl/Streetsmart back into vehicle mode.

Yeah they're really tight, but only on the knee joints that extend from the hips to give him that digitigrade look. His normal knees have soft detents which aren't as scary.

RID Skybite and his Beast Wars predecessor. It takes some skill to not pop his beast mode shell/shoulder pads off while transforming him.

I haven't had that many 3P figures, and luckily I've never had a figure with holy shit tight joints. I will say, however, that my ROTF figures stay in one mode or the other a lot more than any other figure. Mixmaster, in particular, is like playing a plastic accordion to go from one mode to the other.

And BT Wheeljack, awful fiddly transformation with paint that chips if you look at it.

I feel your pain. That's probably how long it took me too, and I don't think I got it 100% right. Transforming it back was just as awful. Wasn't sold on the robot mode anyway, but how bad the transformation was steered me clear of a purchase. It was used.

NEVER transform Combiner Wars UM. His right leg won't connect to the slot on the outer portion, causing the entire bottem leg to be defective. I returned the first figure with the problem. Luckily, the second one hasn't shown any severe signs of the same fate. 50/50.
