Beast Wars II Galvatron reissued in Korean Car Robots packaging. Image found!

According to tf wiki(link on bottom), back in 2003 Sonokong brought Car Robots line to Korean markets, and in that line, several Beast Wars II figures were reissued in Car Robots packaging. One of the figures was Galvatron(who was renamed Gigatron Z in this line), and I'm curious to know if anyone has seen it, because for the life of me I can't find it on google. The other figures I have no problem finding, but Galvatron/Gigatron Z in Car Robots packaging has proven thus far to be really difficult to find, even through ebay, which leads me to believe that this is really rare. So I'm curious to know if anyone has seen it?

Just had a fruitless google search. The figure's reference is D-16 if that's any help to anyone else searching.

Unfortunately the Sonoking Car Bot toys didn't come with toy catalogues so there isn't any reference to package art through that route. I would presume that the packaging was similar to the Beast Wars II release with a green background being added and the Gigatron Destronger stripe at the side.

Be interesting to see images though from someone who actually owns it.

It would be interesting. Problem is it doesn't seem that nobody has it, which leads me to believe that not many were produced and it's a rare piece

I think a bigger issue is the fact that the Sonoking releases seem to have ridiculously large boxes, so even if someone did own it the box is probably long gone by now.

Are you sure you're not referring to the white repaint of RiD Megatron that was called Galvatron in the US? Otherwise I'm 99% certain that what youre referring to doesn't exist.

I'm not referring to that repaint. And supposedly it does exist according to tfwiki. Plus, I remember a while allspark made a thread about those car robot rereleases a while back.

For those slightly confused it's this figure (Beast Wars II Galvatron) combined with this style of packaging (Car Bot Black Convoy) the OP is looking for.

I feel like i recall their being Korean reissues of BW II and Neo in that Timeframe, but i don't recall them being in RID style boxes ~ pretty sure my Big Convoy was a Korean version and the box wasn't that different from the Japanese version (just larger)

but this is going on hazy, decade plus memories ;)

Looks like Sonokong released some of the BWII toys in Car Robots packaging.

    Korean Carbot Destrongers - RIDForever

I did find some references to Sonokong and "Gigatron Z" other places but I haven't found a picture yet.

    You guys have me interested..

I have the Sonokong Garbatron and Big Convoy. They had different packaging, but it most assuredly not Carrobots

Yep, I own both BWII Galvatrons (that is, the same toy in both the Takara packaging and the Sonokong packaging.) As a matter of fact, the Sonokong box is sitting right next to me. BTW, it says "Garbatron," lol. I have no idea if the Sonokong version is rarer, but I don't think I paid more than $30 for it on eBay.

BTW, there's like 5 of them on eBay right now, in the packaging, anywhere from $50 to $100 (but I wouldn't buy it for anything more than $30)

It's definitely not the "Garbotron" version. Plus, He was renamed into "Gigatron Z"

Ah, ok. My Garbatron box says "1998," so it was issued at the same time the Takara Galvatron was (and Gigatron Z was issued in 2005.) So no, I can't help you about any Gigatron Z packaging.

I wish I hadn't seen this - the idea of owning a G2 Megatron in a Car Robots box is gonna be hard for me to resist if I somehow ever find one for sale. :D

It doesn't feature the 'VOICE OF DOOM' though. And G2 Megatron has to feature the 'VOICE OF DOOM'.

All together now - "MEGATRON ATTACK". Terrifying.
