So I finally opened the haul I received from BBTS in late 2013. I opened MP Grimlock and even though it's fiddly it's fixable. Then I open Takara Voyager Grimlock and the two hind claws behind the right arm is missing. Ughhhhh this is what I get for opening these figures so late ....

 

OHH that sucks! Might they still be in the box?

Not unique for Takara to omit parts. I opened my Takara Collection reissue Prowl a couple of years after having bought him and found that the torso piece was missing.


Needless to say I was not a happy bunny.

 

Did you mistake the box for a box of cheese or wine and wanted to consume it at it's peak two year later?

 

Haha I cooled down collecting last year and let all my unboxed collection just sit there. I only bought Rattrap last year but got the itch again.

Already picked up MP Bumblebee, Arcee, and Crosscut recently.

 

This is why im opening my transformers on the store when i pick up just avoid like this happening, even if i hate doing it but better than having QC issues. It also happened to me and since i still have the pic ill share it anyways,

At 1st glance you know everything is fine since you can see the toy,



Then i transform hound, since im new with the toy i don't know what should i check so i got this instead! door is missing!


Thank god as a loyal customer they replace my hound toy with a new one as they know that i bought the set especially for hound.

 

I bought the exact same set just for Hound too at Botcon 2013 but haven't opened it yet! Oh man now I'm worried Hound will be missing a door too!

 

That's why I've been adopting the opening them up ASAP approach. Recently, I had asome of the paint of my Henkei/United figures er, getting dried up and stuck from the plastic packaging! Apparently, the heat and humidity in my country caused the paint to melt (of sorts) in its packaging! Oh well, at least I have 'spares'! X)

 

Wait you must be mistaken. We all know Takara stuff never has QC issues - that's something you only see with Hasbro.

Seriously though, I'm also of the school of open and transform soon after you get it. My Generations Leader Jetfire has an ugly black scuff mark that's only visible in alt mode. By the time I opened and transformed him it was too late to send back.

 

It's obviously Hasbro's fault!

 

Oh, TakaraTomy having no QC issues is a myth! I can attest to that! X) But to be fair to TT, its not that common.

 

No thats a lie. My MP red alert can't hold his gun properly reissue Megs is a bit floppy. My FOC skywarp is as loose as universe prowl and he has heavy play wear!

 

This makes me worried about my boxed Brainstorm figure  

 

Wait, I haven't opened my voyager Grimlock yet!
