There's been a couple threads about re-purposing here and there the last couple of weeks, so I thought I'd ask everyone, whats the biggest stretch you've ever made to give a figure more purpose in your collection?

No customs unless they were extremely small, like a faction swap with labels.


Mine is that I've headcanoned Beast Hunters Legion Breakdown as Prime Demolishor. Sort of in the same vane as Prime Hotshot. A mix of his different incarnations! He was never quite that truck, but its close enough.

 

Beast Hunters Ratchet as the OC Vehicon General of the Morbicons, named "Dino" (pronounced, "dee-no").
Prime Dead End is also my OC, "RoadKill".

 

Old RID Optimus Prime/Fire Convoy as G2 Pyro. It works suprisingly well.

 

Do you fit a lot of toys in by creating your OCs?

Also, which shelves do you put those guys on? Just the Prime one?

 

That sounds like it would make a hilarious repaint though. Imagine a fire truck in those colors  

 

Yes, most of my figures are the characters they were meant to be, it's just when there are more than one of a character on my shelf, then I create OC's.

I actually have all my figures on one shelf.
Yeah, that's right, I'm guilty of the despicable, heinous, and down right evil transgression of mixing lines together.

 

Not my idea but a friend is repurposing Breacher as the unreleased G2 Autolauncher to go with Gen. OP and Sgt. Hound. I guess I can see it but I think I'd rather have a deluxe or voyager class figure instead.

 

I have movie Crankcase on a chug shelf   I just like the way he looks with lockdown! That same shelf has thundertron, movie steeljaw, and movie smolder though.

 

Which movie Steeljaw? DOTM or AOE?
But yeah, if I don't have the character yet, or if I love the design and character enough, I'll mix lines. AOE Crosshairs is the only movie figure I have on my table. Half of Prime's cast is on the same table (only OP, Magnus, Arcee, Bulkhead, and Bumblebee are not there). It's mostly Generations, CW, and RID.

 

Beast hunters Shockwave.I like his size over the generations version and it just doesn't look good.
Animated Blurr.Dude looks like a runner.My headcannon,Blurr should be skinny.The classic version looks like a Blurr that doesn't get off the couch and/or eats to many energon goodies.

Thats all i can think of,could be a couple more,but not many.Does 3P count? Thats one big re-purpose party going on.

 

3P doesnt count if youre using it for the character its intended to be.

Since I sold off the bulk of my Prime collection, I have moved the Prime Predacons to my CHUG shelf as a bunch of space pirates who breached the divide between our world and the dead universe, spent x amount of time there and were mutated by mcguffin X and are now loyal to Galvatron...(needed a way to bolster his team as i have him split from megatron and his team)

 

I have a Bandai MechaGodzilla II as my MP Grimlock re-purpose.

 

i used to repurpose transformers as gobots, and gobots as transformers. that was fun.

along with knock offs, and other transforming figures. that was also fun.

i repurposed the rock guy from he-man as a rocklord, for example.

and then i'd shove in exo squad figures, and star wars. it was a blast.

 

Same figure being used as Roughstuff here. Probably not my biggest stretch but it's late here, I'll get back to you.

Movie Jolt ( the decepticon repaint of cybertron Crosswise) as my OC Deltafire.

 

Probably FoC(?) Sideswipe as Overdrive. Goes great with the Wreckers. TRUTH.

 

Cybertron Snarl, Optimus Prime (Cybertron, Beast), Megatron (Cybertron, Beast), Optimus Primal (Bat and Transmetal), Optimus Minor, the RiD Beast Brothers, Stinkbomb, Generations Rhinox, Crocodile Megatron, Big Convoy, and Cybertron Wreckloose are all Star Seekers, led by Thundertron.

In my headcanon, though, they're less of a pirate crew and just a friendly group of Technoorganic Transformers with Beast Modes that happen to identify as Space Pirates.

 

RID Legion Fixit is going to be Rong on my MTMTE shelf.

FOC Bruticus will become a G1 styled Ruination once I get CW Bruticus.
