If you could go back in time to any TRANSFORMERS era Wich 2 would it be?

By era I mean toy lines.

#1 G1 I wasn't born in the 80s and after seeing many pictures of TRANSFORMERS in The 80s I would brin $1000 and go crazy! Think about it! I would have MINT condition g1 tfs!

#2 would be the whole universe 2.0-generations had some of the best figures like RTS jazz and I wouldn't have to pay ridiculous prices.

    Honorable mention ROTF toy line.

G1. While I like other eras, G1 is where the nostogia lies. I'd be buying figures to leave in the boxes and have a display of MISB figures. Specifically the 84-85 figures.

I was old enough to bought BW onwards where I had disposable income to keep a copy MISB but was fine just getting one copy to open.

While back in 84 or 85, I'm also loading up on MISB/MOSC Star Wars items. Those again are massive nostalgia items. Nothing tops vintage SW items for packaging.

i'd love to go back to the g1 era. not just because i want to buy g1's. but because i want to see the wall of figures at toys r us. the walls of boxes. just how popular transformers used to be. i'd probably go back between 86 and 88. the best era of transformers, in my opinion.

but at the same time, i'd also like to go back and see the other toys on the shelves. as an adult, i'd love to see the girls alse at toys r us, in the 80's. as somebody that once stocked the toys at the same very story i bought toys from in the 80s. i'd love to go back to an 80's toys r us, and just wonder around. to see the lego monorail and trains on display again. to see the entire back row of toys r us, covered in lego boxes. to see the adorable rainbow brite dolls, the gi joe, the barbie, the jem, all the toys i do not even know about. the toys that have been forgotten. the KNOCK OFFS. to see the big giant playsets. playsets which we no longer have on the shelves. we'll never again see a the USS FLAGG again. the closest we've ever gotten since is the avenger's carrier. and that's nothing compared to the FlAGG. we'll never have toys for R rated films again. aimed at kids. there is a reason why the 80's was the best toy era ever.

and it isn't nostalgia. it's the factor that everything had a toyline. Rambo, Robocop, Aliens, Terminator, Conan *although i think Conan and robocop might of been the early 90's? and terminator as well.*

i'd go back to the 80's, not to buy up things, but just to wonder around the store.

G1 and maybe Animated. Well, either Animated or Car Robots/RID. I regret selling off my RID figures. :(

G1. I was alive then and enjoying it very much, but would like to experience it again.

2001-2002: This was the birth of me being an adult collector, and again, I have very fond memories of picking up those early Takara book style reissues, the RID line etc.

G1. I had a bunch of TFs from the '84-'86 lines.

    100% G1.

If I could time travel and go around the world I guess also I'd like to go to Japan and see toy aisles with pre TF Diaclone and Microchange stuff.

Robocop was 1987. Not sure about conan but I'd say 80's too. I wouldn't go back to buy anything but it'd be cool to see the toy shops again. I'd drop a Quakewave/set of Iron Dibots off for my 7 year old self too......

G1 and BW no question. Runner up G2.

Too many things from both lines I missed(one because I wasn't born yet and the other because I found out about it too late) that I would love to pick up for non insane prices.

Plus I just miss being able to walk down the toy aisle and actually seeing walls of toys on the shelves.

I'm shocked by how many of you want to re-live the horrible hodgepodge of mismatched scales, proportions, and practically non-existent articulation of G1 Transformers toys. Even as a child, I found the toys to be poor, inaccurate representations of the cartoon characters I loved, failing both as action figures and as character merchandise... and looking back now, most of them are laughably bad.

With an ever-increasing number of third-party Masterpiece figures, all these Generations and Combiner Wars toys, and IDW publishing the finest Transformers fiction ever, we've never had it so good. Isn't now the best time to be collecting and enjoying the franchise?

What's more, the Internet has made it possible for us to buy any Transformers merchandise from any era, be it the G1 reissues, Marvel comic reprints, or '80s cartoons on DVD, so any fanciful trip back-in-time is just restricting the options available to you...

Personally, I'd much rather get a peak at the future of the franchise, seeing how much more sophisticated the toys, animation, and video games will become, as well as knowing just how big the third-party market will expand and change as 3D printing technology becomes more sophisticated and affordable. Doubtless we will eventually stop going to toy stores entirely, and just order the digital files to be printed on our own machines at home...

THAT's the Transformers era I want to see. :D

G1 and then the First run off commemorative. But I do have to say, I was overly excited to get my first alternator... so that might be tied with the reissues.

    The Cybertron/classics era. 2006

Classics, Cybertron, Alternators, Toys r us G1 reissues.
There was this small toy store in my local mall that had a collector oriented section full of classics and alternators at the time.

That and remembering Toys R Us just across the street that had huge displays for the cybertron toys. showcase with galvatron and some scrapmetals fighting the cybertron defense team. Just epic. I'd love to go back to that.

Man I'd love to collect Sigma 6. Zoids and Stikfas properly as well. Toy Retail was pretty awesome then.

Though I could really exploit the time travel and buy up lots of G1 toys from ebay and dealers cheap before the 07 movie fans Smash the market.

Without question I would go back to the Generation 1 toy isles. Everything from the figures themselves to their display on the toy shelves was simply stunning.

Honorable mention would be Beast Wars era.

That's when hasbro messes up. I would hate to have to print my own figure and it just ruins to feeling of hunting also people would find away to printers fore free via hacking.

I'll go back further than G1 and go to 1980 when the Diaclone line was released. It would be really awesome to get all and have a complete Diaclone collection.

Also, I'll go back to the TF Animated days and get Voyager Blackout while he's still reasonably priced.

Sadly no. That seems to be just before everyone took smart phone pictures of toy aisles. As I browse google image search for it.
