I've been eyeing these from afar... waiting to try one out when it was on clearance. (because seriously >$7 is a joke for a single fig), but anyway I picked up Heatwave today at TJMaxx as a test. And. I like them. They are WAY more sturdy than I thought they'd be. Heatwave here is got this great quality weight to him. Looking back I wish I would've skipped Constructbots and waited for these, because these are easier and seem much less fragile. So they don't "Transform" in the classical sense... their Transformation comes with swapping parts... But what do you all think? Anyone out there collecting them all? If they were 40% cheaper....
and in case you needed another reason not to like theseā¦ The plastic on these is better than the recent deluxe is I've seen for CW or even RID!!!
I picked up Bulkhead at a TJMaxx because he was $7, and I was happy enough with it. The limbs are a little wobbly, but, as you said, he is hefty. He scales like a Voyager, so he is a great "poor-man's-Bulkhead" if you can't find one of the proper Transformer versions. My one gripe is simply that most of them seem to have legs that are too short and stubby. Or at least, I think they look this way because of how the top of the hips seem to be part of the torso and detached from the rest of the leg to allow the leg to move. (Since bulkhead usually has stubby legs, this actually worked for him.)
Yes they are, I'd really like another one, the details are amazing. I never said I'd get a Megatron since I never liked the character but HM Megs is very tempting.
I picked up the Grimlock for ~$7 because it's hard to find a dinosaur transformer with a decent tail, and he seemed like he wouldn't last through multiple parts-swappings. I got the feeling that the connecting pieces would bend and snap, especially considering the force it took to get all the limbs in to begin with.
It's weird that even though Hero Mashers are one of things people like to cite as shelfwarmers that kill the brand, it took me forever to find the Megatron to add to my Megatron collection because it was sold out everywhere.
I got Starscream at a garage sale for $3, mostly complete, a great price. he's kind of fun and will be good for my son once he gets a little older. -
I have parts of these all over the house. Transformers and Marvel all mashed together. My 5 year old goes to town on them.
Targets have them on clearance right now. I picked up a Jetfire last week for $5.48. He's pretty cool for what he is. They also had a bunch of others to choose from.
Hero Mashers are fantastic. I've grabbed all the US releases and hope to find some in Canada next week.
They should repaint these into a bunch of different color schemes. Perhaps even making new characters by mixing the parts up from different figures and painting them in a uniform color.
He is ALL OVER Ross/TJMaxx/Marshalls. I think the reason you couldn't find him is not because he was popular, but because he was in a later wave that didn't make it to stores because the earlier waves were shelf warming.
What really? Megatron isn't common but he's not uncommon. The one I have the hardest time finding is Starscream and Heat Wave. Heat Wave looks bad ass Maybe its because he's more recognizable?
i got the bumblebee/strafeswoop for $10 at kmart. i like swoop better than bee, but they are both good figs. gonna get grimlock, 2 slugs and a couple jurassic world dinos for customizing the rest of the dinobots
My local Target had 6 Starscreams (and one other figure) for months before they clearanced them. I think its just a matter of what happens to sell, since collectors aren't buying up this line
I must admit, my curiousity is piqued with these. I wanted to buy a few TF ones and give them 'distressed' paint jobs, then mix and match the parts so they'd look like the TF zombies that featured in the UK story 'Legion of the Lost'.
