Rather than getting bent out of shape over the Devastator thread here, I thought it best to make a more positive thread. The topic in question? Hound's new figure coming out in 2015(16?).

See, I missed out on the Universe figure when it came out (Into LEGOs at the time), and prices are laughably bad nowadays. Plus, it helps that Hound looks more beefed up this time around.

What say the rest of you? Yay or nay?

Oh Primus. The new Hound is a remold of a remold of a character nobody liked in the first place.

This thread may not go as you had planned. :D

You know what, I like most of the new Deluxes. Hound looks rad, Smokescreen and Sunstreaker are both pretty cool, and I frankly think the new Wheeljack is better looking than the CHUG version.

Hound is especially cool because, despite being in the movie, he's been weirdly under-represented in the toys lately and I was pleasantly surprised to see him. I say bring on the next few Deluxe waves!

Funny, most people seem to quite like Rook.

It doesn't look G1 but it's definitely a nice bulky Hound, kind of remids me of movie Hound.

He even has the mini gun, unless that was Swindle's gun in the comic.

I don't have hound but with the ports on this one I guess he could use those on his body too.

Some one should do that when he comes out.

Rook remains one of my favorite CW figures so far. Seeing Hound and Swindle as remolds pleased me greatly.
Hound does look pretty darn good, so it'll be one of the few Autobots I end up getting.

he's cool, but not necessary. i don't have the universe one either but it's a moot point since the CW one looks nothing like hound, headsculpt aside. not fond of characters sharing bodies, either.

my universe hound looks much better since he has his shoulder cannon and the dr wu gun from the cartoon. the cw version doesn't have his signature shoulder cannon so that pretty much killed it for me.

Hound and Swindle look awesome, and Rook is fantastic too. Not sure where the "nobody liked him" comes from.

Hound? Don't care. I'm more interested in it as Swindle. But at least a good chunk of classic Autobots are getting a new toy in some capacity for those unwilling to hunt the aftermarket for decently priced older versions like Universe Hound or Classics Mirage. (or, like Ironhide, the previous toy was lackluster. Okay, maybe this just applies to Ironhide...)

Uhhh yay a retool that'll probably be worse than his unique Universe/Henkei toy! I can save money! Thanks Hasbro!

I totally like it. Rook is one of the best carbot I have had, and Swindle/Hound retool of him looks great too. I say bring it on!

I think that Hound is the best deluxe figure of that set. If I were to just get one deluxe from that wave it would be him.

I have been hunting them earlier this year on eBay, and I have never seen "decent price" (<US$ 50) touted for them. Mind you that I am in Indonesia. Even Taiwanese sellers are pegging them for upward of 60-70 bucks free shipping. Don't ask me what the USA or European price+shipping would be.

Eh, eBay might not always be the best route... Sometimes you might find a collector that's parting with them for various reasons and is just looking for a fair price and a good home for them to go to. It also depends on what an individual feels is a decent price for toys that are up to almost a decade old now. (pretty sure the prices you mentioned wouldn't seem right no matter how you look at it)

He's alright. Much prefer the Universe version overall, but if I do get him he wouldn't be such a bad WFC stand in.

I think Hound, like Swindle, is the best of their waves. I don't have Rook yet so I don't know how awesome the mold is but it looks good, he and Ironhide are the ones I most look forward too out of both Autobot deluxe waves.

I like the looks of CW Hound and don't mind that it's a repaint/remold. I haven't found the wave 3 deluxes yet, but I fully expect to like Rook.
