It's weird, but Sky Lynx was always weird. Looks like a fun toy. Can't want to get one.

 

I think it's silly and could've been done without. But it's also play value and as someone who does love the combiner gimmick I'll gladly take it. I honestly WILL end up using Sky Lynx as a torso and combine the Autobots. I also love the way the head looks quite frankly. I'm sure someone'll do a Voltron custom out of it or the (not quite confirmed) Liokaiser.

 

Already forgot it combines.

 

I would have preferred he have the traditional split apart into two beasts feature, but I am glad he at least has this feature. I won't be getting him his own limbs, but he'll be fun to combine with the Aerialbots or Protectobots from time to time.

 

I'll be buying him as a standalone.

 

Sky Lynx's limbs should be Sunstreaker, Sureshot, Tracks and Highbrow, and the combiner mode should be called Ego Maximus.

Just got mine. Pretty light and flimsy toy. SL was always weird, but I dunno...this is probably my least favorite in the entire CW line. Never even bothered transforming him; he's pretty much exactly how he was out of the box with some neck twists which is it's best feature.

I haven't given up hope yet on him. I'm hoping there will be tons of third-party upgrades available. Are there any out yet or even announced? He most definitely needs new claw-feet.

The lion head for Sky Reign is okay, but I hope there's a 3P robot-y head made that someone comes up with.

Sky Lynx is one of those hard to place in a new role figures.

On a personal level I walked away from Combiner Wars period. I don't do chase the figure and they couldn't bother to give me a complete combiner on one shot, so I tried with Superion and said piss on it.

 

I find it to be one of the oddest of all lines and definitely the weirdest of Combiner Wars. He works better as an individual than as part of a team, especially the torso.

That being said, he's certainly proof of concept that a heavy retool could work wonders. I can see how this could be turned into Razorclaw, or Hun-Grr, or as we now know, Lio Kaiser.

As a stand alone figure, it's not a bad Sky Lynx, it's undersized and lacking articulation outside of torso mode, but it's a nice figure and I think the retools, if done right, could make for some really nice figures. Even as combiner torsos.

It's just that Sky Lynx and Sky Reign don't work all that well as part of a combiner team. It's a striking look, but just not one that does it for me. I imagine I'm not the only one who feels this way.
