Another first for the Interview slot on TFSource Blog, our first collector from Mexico! Eduardo ''Lalo'' Cardenas has an extensive boxed G1 collection as well as the kind of Mexican variant gems you would expect, which adds to the mystery as to why there aren't more high profile Mexican Transformers given their treasured vintage variant history. Eduardo takes us through his history with Transformers, the plight of the collector in Mexico and a few interesting tales from his time in the hobby.

Excellent interview once again! Very nice collection. Nice to hear a collector's point of view spanning the years from Mexico.

Great interview, though I find I cant help but wonder if he collects cloth myth, having mentioned Saint Seiya lol

Interesting how collections play out when importing is your primary means of acquisition

    Also, 50$ MOSC IGA Swerve!!?!??!!?!

    Color me super jelly!! :D

    Great read as always Maz!

Not to threadjack, but just FYI I know Saint Seiya was HUGE in Mexico at least at one time - I live on the border and we would watch Mexican dubs being broadcast over the air when I was a kid.

Lol, I know, living in Tx my whole life, I've been to Mexico, and every time I came back with some new toys, unfortunately this was the 90s, so transformers were a bit scarce (and I didn't understand or appreciate the significance of regional variants at the time), but we always managed to find some Saint Seiya figures to take home, I didn't even know what they were from until 01, lol they were just awesome armored knights to me (that occasionally fought alongside the autobots in my childhood battles)

Very cool read. Always interesting to get the perspective of someone who's outside the US, but especially from a country that's still so close yet provides a different experience all the same.
