Ah duh, thanks for catching that! I mentally group them with the '84-'86 bunch out of habit, even though they came later. I'll correct that post.

Which, except for possibly the Dinobots, none of those others will probably ever be reissued.

Blurr and Cyclonus were reissued as Targetmasters a year after their original toys debuted, but that might not fit your definition of "reissue."

 

I would really appreciate some of the JPNs exclusive characters toys done . In particular Galaxy shuttle

 

About those Dinobots, I recall reading or hearing that Hasbro/Takara no longer had the original molds for those toys and hence that is why they cannot make it?

Personally i would like to see the Headmasters, targetmasters reissued. Maybe the pretenders too.

I think it would be more valuable to list all the reissues that HAVE been released. It's not that long of a list when you filter out the toys that have been reissued multiple times. I'm at work or I'd do it myself right now.

This wiki link has a list of reissue lines which should have all the currently reissued figures on it (excluding the most recent platinum reissues).

Personally, I love love love reissues and have at least one version of every reissued mold. My wishlist would include the *masters, especially Scorponok, and the remaining movie characters that haven't been reissued before with their guns AND Targetmasters ala Kup and Hot Rod. Last year I would have included the coneheads, Trypticon and the Dinobots, but it looks like we're finally making some progress there!

 

Grand max and Minerva included in this right? and possibly overlord.

 

Cliffjumper, Brawn and Windcharger didn't get non keychain reissues yet either. I'd love to complete the Minibots. I have the keychain versions for now.

 

What it does leave out are a few one-off G1 reissues from Takara (Star Convoy, Rodimus Prime, Galvatron, Sixshot, God Ginrai), some of which have not been redone at all since then.

True, and I'd like non-keychain versions of them made someday as well. I still hope for another Encore set that wraps up the remaining minibots.

I listed combiner members by combiner name, but otherwise included individual names. I also excluded nebulans and other little (non-cassette) friends as individual characters. I excluded neo G1, redeco characters (black convoy, etc) and diaclone reissue homages. I also excluded European and Chinese "early" reissues, as they seemed to be more connected to G1 proper. You're missing Godbomber, Landcross, Sixbuilder, Sixliner, Sixtrain and Sixturbo. Also, Star Convoy is part of G1, not "other" lines, so that should be slotted with the other G1 reissues.

Sixwing is kind of hard to describe - the molds have technically been reissued, but instead of straight reissue like the other Micromaster combiners, it was redecoed and changed to a Decepticon, so technically, it's still awaiting a "proper" reissue.

 

I added your notes about the combiners. I'll trust your judgement, but I thought the earlier, 2002 reissue of Sixshot (released prior the the shinier, black book style one) was a pretty faithful reissue, faction aside. The whole border between Japanese and English G1 is already kinda murky, and I'm definitely not an expert on the nuances of the each's fiction. The issue is further complicated by Japanese reissues of US only toys and vice versa. I'd still hurt people for a Minerva reissue, though.
