"Third in a series, "Unite Warriors" that focuses on popular coalescence warrior of Transformers, with Tomy mall limited sale, Protectobots coalescence warrior "guardian" appeared of Cybertron!
Hot spot five bodies of the Grey's Street Wise First Aid groove comes with, it can be transformed into three modes of robot mode Vehicle mode combined form respectively.
In all character domestic addition to become the first mold, "groove" is unobtainable overseas completely new mold product!"
This is why it's an exclusive. They have to earn the money back from producing a new mold, and that will cost a lot.

Deluxe Bike all the way, unless I can't get him for whatever reason. Then I'll just use Rook.

Might wait for a redeco. I've already got AB and Offroad, might as well get Rook. I'm not too much of a G1 purist to desperately hunt the deluxe Groove down considering he won't be released domestically. I'm probably not going to find Slingshot or Wildrider anywhere either.

Guys, is the Takara version of Defensor with the G1 originals? I don't follow IDW and there's not much info I can find.

It just seems like Defensor is the third Unite Warriors combiner, so are they keeping up with the trend of G1 like Superion and Superion?

I was GOING to get the Takara version of Defensor with deluxe Groove. But then I did the math.

All the retailers I've seen have Unite Warriors Defensor at around $150-160, plus the $20-25 that it'll cost to get Rook and the Legends Groove......yeah. Meanwhile the six figures in the Hasbro set run, all told, just over $100 by my calculations. That means Deluxe Groove, ONE FIGURE, increases the price of the set by easily $50-60. This isn't a third party figure with premium engineering and a low production run, it's a mass produced toy. I can't justify that price. I'll remain hopeful for a solo release, a domestic release, or worst case scenario a knockoff.

I wonder how many people are still in the "get both" camp now that we've seen more of the nature of this release.

Do we know for sure that the deluxe Groove will get a release in the US? It said "unattainable overseas" in that news article.

We don't know for sure. If I had to bet on one or the other I'd assume it's going to stay Japanese only. This release is so much weirder than Wildrider and Slingshot.

Getting Takara Defensor and Hasbro Rook. Legends Groove just doesn't cut it for me. In any fashion.

I like my Legends Groove just fine as a chestplate, but I would buy the deluxe version if it does arrive in the US. I'm not importing anything.

The mold may be exclusive to Japan, but I highly doubt they'll stop at one release of it for the Japanese market. Takara seem to be pretty committed to releasing the Unite Warriors line as giftsets, but I remain hopeful that they'll repaint or retool the mold in some way, shape, or form.

Molds are expensive. I think it unlikely that Takara will be able to make enough from this one use to justify making an entirely new mold for it.

Some members of this community like to hold Takara to higher standards than Hasbro, to set them on a pedestal. But in the end, Takara-Tomy is a business. If they can make more profit off the mold, they'll release it again.

I like the vintage team, but I think Rook really sells the theme of this combiner for me better than Groove (Fire response, 2 medevac, 2 heavy law enforcement, and a cop bike for support). Also, I just love how Groove works as a chestplate, complete with the Autobot star that looks like a sheriff badge. That little detail makes Defensor for me.

Sorry I may be late to the party on this but did Hasbro ever announce it would release Groove in Deluxe? Or are we forced into getting the Unite Warriors set if we want him? Thanks!
