-Curling arms aren't design killers. They really don't bother me, either.
    -I don't care whether a figure is cartoon or comic-accurate. If it's a good/fun figure, I'll get it.
-Letting nostalgia rule whether a figure is 'good enough' is silly to me. Passing on a figure or demanding slight changes because it isn't EXACTLY how it was in G1 seems like a waste.
-Masterpieces don't entice me in the least. The only ones I'll bother with at this point are the eventual Shockwave, Megatron v2 and Galvatron. I have no need for obscurely painted car or Seeker number 15 in my collection.
-The AoE SDCC Dinobots (and Amazon Slog) are the updated Dinobots in my Classics collection. No need for further updates for me.

Ramjets right, a removable cab section should have been a feature, not a minimus figure.

Isn't the cab on Leader UM simply held by a screw? Seems pretty easy to remove it, methinks.

Sort of this. But instead of the SDCC versions, I have the regular AoE release colors and to me they look pretty good sitting with my other classics. I think of them more as updated G2 Dinobots. However, I would not be opposed to future Classics versions of the original G1 figures.

I don't get all the hate on IDW Magnus. I seriously don't.
"The cab doesn't disconnect". It doesn't transform either so there's no loss
"Minimus Ambus". You know you don't have to put him in, he's optional

As for my unpopular toy opinion, I'm not big into MPs. Star Saber was leaning on me since he's my favorite Autobot, but I'm sticking with Generations
Oh, and RID2015 is amazing as a toyline. Sideswipe, OP, Drift Jazz and Steeljaw are amazing.

Movieverse has some of the best toys ever made for a Transformers line. Some duds here and there, but most of them are really fantastic.

Then why screw him in in the first place? Why not make it removable?

I don't really care about Minimus, but the cab thing?

Some of us actually buy Transformers for both robot AND vehicle mode. And a permanently attached cab takes some of the fun of toy trucks away. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't open up the trailer to put cars, we, jets in it conventionally.

I wanted the cab to be fully transformable.

Probably because the cab doesn't transform into anything aside from storage for the bot head, and these toys are geared toward a general market (kids and parents) and not directly at us collectors. Just my guess.

Guys, the guy is based off of IDW. I don't think the cab ever transformed in MTMTE.
If you don't like him, just keep the turd party City Commander, but don't go around making somewhat laughable "points" and ruining peoples fun.

"He doesn't scale well either". Have you looked at your figures from the past 30 years? This is nothing new.

Given that's how they used to do battery compartment cover latches, I agree that making the cab seperate from the trailer is pretty easy.

But why would anybody want that? Ultra Magnus is the trailer, the combined cab and trailer is his robot mode.

Ok, then, what can you do with the cab if you remove the trailer?

Nothing. The cab is not its own individual separate figure like the original UM was just a white Optimus. Most of the cab is actually hollow to store the UM head as well as space for Minimus to sit inside.

And if the idea there is simply for the "feature" of having a disconnecting trailer purely for play value, then there's no point as UM never disconnects from his trailer.

-ROTF Optimus was cool but i couldn't ever transform him i think i got him into a truck once.
-Alpha Bravo is the best Deluxe of Wave 1 Combiner Wars and I prefer him over a Slingshot
-MP-10 is a great masterpiece figure but currently I think the best masterpiece figure is Wheeljack
    -I like repaints

Reading through this thread so far I'm not sure some of the points are unpopular opinions.

Anyway here are some of my opinions which are definitely unpopular:

FOC Optimus Prime is the perfect size.

Classic Seekers and WFC Soundwave are a head too tall.

Instead of minibots I want carbots made in the new legends size

    Unpopular. Gotcha.........

I didn't like MP Magnus that much and it turns out I'm almost as underwhelmed by MP Star Saber........but he does at least have a cool Space-Plane thing going on at the front.

    Let the HATE flow...........

    Got a few:

I don't like combiners very much at all other than the Protectobots and Technobots. The idea never excited me too much and I never felt too attached to any of the teams or characters aside from those two. CW hasn't done much for me yet but I'm optimistic for the future.

CW Prime is my new official CHUG Prime, as I was always kinda iffy on the previous Voyager Optimus (and really, the Legends IDW Prime is better than either of them anyway :D ).

CHUG Ironhide isn't actually that terrible, but I'm willing to see his CW repaint.

Animated is quickly becoming my favorite-ever TF line (ahead of Car Robots and G2) and I'm super sad that it had to die for TF Prime, of all things.

I think MP Sunstorm's Hasbro deco is better than the TT one.

Armada's toys aren't actually that great, but I can appreciate how many people it got into TFs. It just feels and looks like such a massive step back after Car Robots' original molds.

Ah, glad to get some of those off my chest. :D

Did he even turn into anything? Or a truck?

But he could have scaled correctly, instead he's a land version of the SHIELD Helicarrier.

And some of us like our figures to scale. Is that too much to ask of a figure that SHOULD scale? But doesn't? I like really little details and seeing the alternate mode, and seeing a door the size of a 1/32 coke can is distressing to me. Scale is part of the fun of Transformers to me. I like seeing how big these guys would be if they were real next to humans.
