I think Optimus Prime mp10 is a great start,and with a reissue up for preorder then the timing is great.

 

How about I ask you a question. Why did you pick those three?

TT MP-10. Best deco of the best version of the best character. Also, he'll never be cheaper than he is now with the reissue on the way.

 

Because their my favorites. I forgot to put Star Saber up there though as he's one of my top favorites.

For the price of Prime or Magnus, you can get a Wheeljack and a Prowl. Ultimately, its up to you which you prefer more, and if you really feel like you need some approval on which one to buy, then you're probably just gonna regret buying it in the first place.

 

MP Soundwave... best one IMO. And he comes with 5 cassettes.

 

I vote for MP-10 Optimus. The color differences are much more minor than everybody thinks. There are lots of photos out there that show it with a very bright blue. Then I look at mine under normal lighting and the blue looks much darker than that. I say as long as you get an MP-10, that's all that matters as it's the heart of the MP line.

 

I had both the Hasbro and TT MP-10's. There are quite a few big differences besides the blue.

 

MP-10 is the one figure that you can always keep around. Even if you didn't get another MP or even stopped collecting transformers and sold everything else off, MP-10 could/would be the one singular figure you keep that still makes sense to have all by himself. He is, in my opinion, the perfect representation of Transformers in general and the MP-10 version is (so far) the best version of Optimus (MP-10>MP-01>G1 OP). Jumping on the reissue of Takara MP-10 while it's available at such a low price is the way to go.

 

You won't be disappointed with any of them but start with Optimus.

 

I also think an MP-10 is a must have. It really is a masterpiece and representative of the entire line.

Of course this is subjective and you should pick which character really appeals to you more.

I'd say, of all the other MP's, Soundwave (especially the Hasbro release with all the tapes) is the closest to achieving the same level of perfection/satisfaction.

 

Something seems off here. The poll for best large MP had UM and prime almost dead even. Here, prime is dominating UM. Why would people recommend a figure that isn't their favorite as one someone else should buy first? I'm not trying to troll here, we all know I'm not a big fan of UM, but the results just seem odd to me.

I'm personally not crazy about the choices. I would recommend bluestreak or prowl as a first timer purchase. They're probably my favorite MPs. 2nd is a toss up between sideswipe and soundwave (or prime, maybe  ).

 

Cos this is a slightly different premise - if you could only have 1 MP. Prime is such an iconic character, and MP-10 such a great execution of Prime, you just gotta have him. I totally love MP UM, and even prefer him to MP-10 in several ways, but I just had to click Prime for this poll after hovering over UM for a while.

 

If I ever had to clean my collection and reduce only to must haves, I think the datsun bros would be last to go for me. That's honestly what ranks sideswipe so high for me, I just love seeing the cars together, but datsuns make my collection for me. I guess I'm just weird that way.
