They should have at least refunded you.

This is my experience with RK, and I've given them thousands of my dollars. They are a good e-tailer in that they package your items securely (never received a damaged box), have extremely fast shipping from HK (less than a week), somewhat competitive pricing, mark down your invoice on custom forms (NEVER been hit with duties, no matter how large the shipping box was) and gives out freebies on orders over a certain dollar amound. From this standpoint, they are a very trustworthy and reliable retailer.

But from some of the stories I hear and read, when it comes to addressing issues with the toys you received, it can be problematic and a challenge, and frustrating for the customer. So I'm selective of what I purchase from RK. I only buy official MP's from them (want the coin + amazon exclusives) as I know there's not much you can do to dispute a problem with official Takara products. I also don't like the price hike in their shipping costs. They claim HK postage has gone up....maybe it has. But don't forget the shipping fees are automatically calculated, so it's very possible that the quote is over the actual cost (will never know). I have received a refund on shipping cost for MP-22 as it was over quoted.

So I think the consensus here is that RK is a great retailer to purchase your toys from for all those various reasons stated. Just don't expect above average customer service. Once your items leave their warehouse, it's no longer their priority.

I've had spotty experiences with them in the past, but I still use 'em from time to time -

They've normally came through, eventually, but I think they should have refunded you, or sent another figure....

Generally, if there's an issue with something (with any online retailer), and the ball is in their court, I normally chase em a few times in a given week, if they don't get back within 48hrs, then 24hrs, daily, until they respond - very few have gotten to the point I've had to send 3 emails.

It may be pestering, but if they are not forthcoming in the first place, they have to get me back 'on side' - if there is a delay on the retailers part, not the manufacturer (release dates, etc) - they have to make it right.

I haven't had any issues yet with RK. I had an Aranea with the windshield piece that snapped off months after I had it from transforming between modes, and I had a brand new torso eventually sent out to me. The only downside there was it took a month or two, if I remember correctly.

Right now I'm waiting on two lights to replace the one's that don't work with my Project Genesis that I ordered, but aside from that one pending. Haven't had any other issues. Yeah, shipping prices can be a pain, but that's anywhere. Yeah, there are retailers out there that will ship free, but plenty more that won't, and I already know the price will be jacked up due to international shipping costs/taxes, so if I'm hitting RK, it's usually warranted and I know what to expect.

I'll let you guys know how my replacement lights situation goes. I was last told it's in the mail.

Granted, RK may not have the fastest response time when it comes to issues, mine included, but when I did receive my replacement/missing parts, I even got extra pieces. I was overjoyed and now I have two sets of feet for Uranos, as well as all the weapons and then some. My last order, TFC Blades (Prometheus), arrived without a hitch to my location (US)in 7 days. Be that as it may, each situation as well as each persons opinion should warrant a measure of respect. We are a group of awesome collectors and we need to continue to support one another in this hobby. Support Toys and Love not sarcasm and negativity.

I've had excellent experiences with rk, fast shipping and communication. Just recently I received px summanus with a missing part. They replied almost immediately saying they asked for replacement parts. Hopefully I get a reply back....

Yet another 7 days has passed without a reply from them.

Posted the story on their FB-page now, see if they might reply then.

Apparently some stores were expecting a restock on Huff a while back, maybe that's what they're waiting for?

I think they're waiting for more TF trading cards to come in stock. That's usually their fix all solution...pack of those babies and everyone is happy!

Or sometimes stores receive returns and use them for spare parts, that could be something else they might be waiting for.

The one time I had a QC issue with a 3P toy I bought from RK I was very impressed with the result. I bought Planet X Genesis from them, and over 6 months later, finally got around to transforming him. Missing part! There was no piece to hold the engine in place and stop it from flopping down. Contacted RK, within a few days they had the replacement part ready for me, and just asked if they could ship it with my next order, though they'd ship it by itself if they had to. Two weeks later I ordered something else, and when it arrived, there was my missing part.

Edit: I remember another time, ordering Toyworld's Hardbone. He was missing his big cannon. Took about a month to chase that down, just complete silence almost, until one day it was in, and I honestly can't remember if they contacted me, or if they just shipped it and it randomly arrived one day.

I'd lean towards thinking they're not deliberately stringing you out, they will eventually help you if they can, they just can't help you in the way you'd like at the moment, and they suck at communication.

I've had it happen with other things, and other companies. Just recently I was collecting Star Trek Starship magazines through a subscription. My second shipment went missing, and it took several months of constant badgering to get the missing magazines, and as for the bonus plaque I was supposed to get, I badgered them every single shipment for 6 months, then unsubscribed, then kept emailing every month or two after that, and finally, almost a year later, had a shipment arrive that was just the plaque. For that whole year, all I could get was "it's on backorder."

I bought TF-02 Godbomber from them.

Straight out of the box, he was missing an internal connector and a wheel (not RK's fault; this was Xovergen's stuff-up).

RK required pics, which I was able to email [with the assistance of Ben from benscollectables.com; thank-you once again, sir!]

They replied fairly promptly, communication was good, and they gave me the option to either ship the parts separately, or include them with another upcoming order I have with them - Apollyon - at no shipping cost.

Apollyon is (hopefully) due some time this month, so I guess I'll find out how it goes in the next few weeks...

I have a similar type of experience with Action Robo with my Quantron, took around 3 months to resolve.

I guess it is out of the retailer control sometimes.

I will never buy from RK again due to them promising to help until the PayPal window closes. Once closed you'll never hear from them again regardless of how much money you have spent with them over the years.

I had something VERY similar to this happen back with TFC Devastator. Now keep in mind this wasn't the first time I had ordered from RK. I actually purchased all of the TFC limbs from them, most of my perfect effect figures, and some takara imports.

Anyways this was actually the first time I ran into a serious problem with a figure. I purchased TFC Bonecrusher in a large lot, when I got the figure I noticed that one of the feet had got caught in a machine or something and was all warped up to the point I couldn't transform the figure. So naturally I emailed RK about it thinking it would not be that big of a deal.

It took them about a week to reply the first time, they said they could replace the part but I would have to pay the shipping, which they quoted at 15 dollars. So naturally I paid the shipping and after about 2 weeks I finally got the package. They had somehow managed to send me heavy labor's replacement crotch part... despite me sending them clear photos of the part and emphasizing 3-4 times it was for bonecrusher.

I email them again, but at this point they stop replying at all. I have a friend email them and they got a reply the next day, but once he explains the situation, they stop replying again. Anyways I admit it was a dick move, but I opened a case just to get them to respond. It worked... XD

Anyways I did eventually get the part I needed... But I wont buy anything off them again.

Sorry to hear this, but I must say I have had nothing but good experiences with them. I am from New Zealand, if that makes a difference.
