    Hi everyone,

I was reading over the MP Character Guide thread and was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Wiki devoted just to the numerous TF toylines and figures?

I'm already paying for hosting and wouldn't mind grabbing another domain and throwing it up if the community here thought it would be a useful undertaking. I understand there are other TF wikis and would want to make this one distinct by only focusing on the toylines/figures as the waters can be muddy at times.

If you're interested in contributing let me know or, if you think it's a bad idea or time waste, feel free to let me know that as well!

I love the idea. Something simple I could use as a checklist.

Sounds interesting but would you go into more detail than the TFWiki does? Perhaps going into detail about variations, showing packaging, etc.

I'm not sure how you could go into more detail than TFU.info or tfwiki.net regarding the toys. Maybe if you researched extremely obscure variants, maybe, but I'm doubtful there'll be enough of a distinguishing factor for this thing.

Yeah that was exactly what I was thinking. Box art, release dates, variants and maybe dimension info as well.

One example of what I would like to do is include a section on each figures page for accessories to make tracking what's a "100% complete figure" a bit easier than it is now.

I would also like to arrange the meta data in a way so that, say you wanted to see every Bumblebee figure regardless of line, you can find all his figures we've indexed in the Wiki. I should be able to set something like that up relatively easily as well.

Sounds cool. I would contact Fred to see if you can use his variant information. Would be nice to have a searchable wiki.

Sounds redundant to me. TFWiki has all that info and then some.

    Would it include 3P?
I'd be interested if it did.

This site already kinda does this with detailed toy information.

    Shelflife.com
This site also kinda documents toys but is a marketplace.

    TFU.info
    Also great.

Just an FYI for what I think is already out there.

Actually no, TFWiki concentrates more on characters. The section for each toy is good, but can be more in-depth.

Agreed. TFWiki is great but, if you're looking for deep specifics about a figure, you can end up clicking all over the place and sometimes still not find what you were after.

I did something similar as part of my graduate thesis I can probably knock it out in a weekend or two.

And yes, for the people asking, I definitely want to include third party stuff.

I would love that. I don't really like the interface of TFU.info; a wiki style site would be great. I personally would love it to include 3P stuff too, clearly marked and stuff in each page. I'm an MP collector, and I love the 3rd party accessory packs and add ons. I've wished for an easy way to find the info on all those.

And as others have said TFWiki is great for information on the character, but I feel there's much more info on the toys to be had. Photos of all the boxes going back to diaclones and stuff would be great.
