Yup I had stress... But the stress I had was mainly from being at work when I read this topic, and not being able to check out my MP-22 immediately.
Anyhow, having only transformed UM twice from bot to alt mode and back to bot, this part didn't have any stress marks. Actually, I didn't notice any unnecessary force needed to transform this part: on my UM I can move it very smoothly both ways, locking in without any force or stress on the plastic, or any damage to the paint.

My UM is Takara Japan released: is there any indication that the Hasbro Asia release is in any way different or from a significantly earlier or later production run with some quality issues? I've been asking myself if there are perhaps differences in production standards between Takara MP's and Hasbro Asia MP's since the paint color differences in MP-21 Bumblebee. My Takara Japan MP-21 has perfectly matched colors...

Mine came from HLJ so I assume it's a Japanese release. I am gonna spend some time sanding those parts down to make sure I don't stress it anymore. Most of the paint there is unnecessary anyway.

I think the initial releases are made in the same factory, whether they're sold in Japan or the rest of Asia. I think it's just luck of the draw.

Thanks: my theory can evidently be immediately debunked! So yeah, it probably is the luck of the draw...

I know you circled it to highlight the problem area, but I honestly cannot see what you are referring to

I have two and neither one has the stress issues in the area indicated. No cracks in my Hasbro TRU MP-10 tires either.

Mine has the stress mark too. Transformed it once so unsure where the mark comes from.
