Because Swindle is a cocky, self serving jerkoff who lets Brawl and Onslaught do heavy lifting and will abandon his team if things look terrible. He's not meant to be a bulky bruiser, he's a self serving con-artist who isn't as bulky as Brawl.
    Swindle-G1MT[1].jpg
Besides he's do something sneaky like having some sort of force field or holographic projector. To call this thing Swindle is an insult to Sw
indle. So I call him "Ripoff" the same way I call the jet "Blastoff" Crashlanding. This Decepticon doesn't make me think of a sleazy con-bot who would sell his maker for a profit but an idiot bruiser who would mindlessly follow someone off a cliff like a leming. Kazimir
was right, Offroad would have been better for Swindle and his inevitable repaint into Hound!
prime-wars-swindle.png It's by no means perfect but it's sure as shit better than the abomination we got currently. Hasbro take fucking notes!

Have you not seen any other version of Swindle? As in, even the actual G1 version? He's a bulky dork! So shove it, and take your superiority complex with you.

Yeah, I like CW Swindle quite a bit. I even like CW Blast Off as Shuttle Blast Off has always been the weirdest part of the Combaticons. He works very well as part of a military group if he’s a jet.

All in all I really like the CW Combaticons. Only Brawl is the weak point and then only on robot mode.

Don't forget Brawl's arm mode. It's objectively horrible. I think it's ugly and mine don't stay together as anything but a leg or a tank.

I’d add, I’m the odd ball in this thread as for the most part I’ve been in favor of almost all the CW new members.

I like Rook quite a bit and the legends Groove fixed one of the problems with the Protectobots, namely how weirdly off scale Groove has always been. And I came around on Alpha Bravo too.

I wonder what brawl would of looked like if Hasbro used the rook mold to make him instead of the brawl mold

Yeah, Brawl is just a horrible mold. Bruticus and the Combaticons are my all time favorite combiner team and I almost passed on them over how bad he is. I eventually broke down and bought him with the idea he would permanently be a leg.

That’s an interesting question. I think it would have taken some heavy remolding but could have worked. The turret could have worked like Rook’s canopy does, and you could have removed the wheels slapped on treads and done insert hidden wheels.

Yes I've seen it. But G1 gets a pass because nearly none of the toys were show accurate due to them being repurposed from Daiclone, Microman and other such toy lines. Poor Blastoff didn't even have proper hands, he had penguin flippers XD. Hell Ironhide and Ratchet didn't even have heads. And least we forget the....questionable placement of Megatron's gun trigger in robot mode. But again, it all gets a pass because of engineering limits at the time.

Look If you like that version of him, great! For me he isn't my cup of tea. No need to get defensive. There are people who absolutely love the G2 color schemes and I feel like my eyes want to vomit when I see them. Sorry G2 fans, again not my cup of tea. So for my part I don't want to call him Swindle because it's not what I expect and want from the character. I'm looking for the bot who literally left his comrades in pieces and in stasis lock in a freaking junk yard and would sell his own motherboard for a profit. And Yes Brawl's arm mode is horrible.

Aye. In fact, I think its one of the most solid and robust of the deluxes in CW and Potp. Arm mode always looks powerful too.

This is the "Combiner Wars Appreciation" thread for a reason. It really irks me when someone just outright goes off about how they hate a figure when it really, really wasn't called for.

It's the Internet, people are entitled to their opinions. Besides that Ripoff and Crashlanding most of the Combiner Wars/United Warriors/Power of the Primes/Prime Wars stuff I've actually enjoyed. Motormaster was a bit of a disappointment but he's passable. The Protectibots, and Arialbots have been pretty sweet, we got an Ultra Magnus that isn't a Prime repaint, a nod to the G1 fake Menasor from the G1 episode, a combiner of Fem-cons, an excellent Skyfire/Jetfire, A Starscream's Ghost figure{how does that work? Is he a phantom limb?[rimshot]}, an excellent Cyclonus, a delightful 3rd attempt at Blastoff, even Volcanicus without addons has his charm if you use his default hands to bulk him out then use any extra hand/foot/guns for hands.

We got an official Computron, an official Abominous, Titan Class Devastator and Predaking, which while not the quality of the 3p offerings are still very nice. I especially love how Divebomb transforms and want to see that implemented in future 3p Predakings, even if the upper legs need to partsform and serve no purpose in their individual robot modes. {Although to be honest they'd find a way to turn them into some sort of weapon(s)}. Hell we got a Leo Kaizer of all characters, the only Combiner Team we haven't gotten yet are the Seacons and it wouldn't surprise me if they were announced soon. Even some of the replacements you could find a place for. If I could find three more spare bots on the Autobot side you could make your own combiner team. Same for Offroad and Crashlanding. Even though the latter doesn't work as Blastoff he is good for a generic Seeker type character. Frankly I'm shocked the Arialbots weren't all repainted into Seekers. Team up Offroad and Crashlanding with Thundercracker, Skywarp and Cyclonus and Cyclonus has his own team at long last. Although would Thundercracker being on the team be a time paradox? Well we can say it's a clone of Thundercracker created with memory backups.

As much as I complain about "Ripoff" Combiner Wars/United Warriors/Power of the Primes/Prime Wars is a welcome breath of fresh air. I remember the dark times, scraping by on Energon recolors, the sheer disappointment of FoC Bruticus {Seriously Vortex and Swindle were the only figure molds worth a damn in that set} As I said; If you like that version of Swindle, great! That being said it's been a long road getting from there to here. It's been a long road. It's been a long time, but our time is finally here! And we have seen our dreams come alive at night. We have touched the sky! And they're not gonna hold us down no more! No they're not gonna change our minds.

    (Chorus)
'Cause I've got faith of the Spark!
I'm going where my heart will take me!
    I've got faith to believe!
    I can do anything!
I've got strength of the soul!
No one's going to bend nor break me!
    I can reach any star!
    I've got faith (I've got, I've got, I've got)!
    I've got faith (I've got, I've got, I've got)!
    Faith of the Spark!

Okay that was a tad overly dramatic but seriously it's been a long ways going from Energon to now.

I like Rook, too. I think he looks fine as both an arm and a leg.

While I prefer Groove over Rook, Rook still has a place in a Protectibot display, being either a scout for Defensor or a replacement Arm or leg when one is too damaged to fight. Combiner Wars isn't perfect but over all for a main line of toys they over all are nice and solid little Bots and Cons who are fun to play with and look good on a shelf. You can't even say that about some 3P figures. Fansproject Menasor looks great but does anyone really enjoy transforming that set's Motormaster? Even though I'd replace CW Motormaster with Lonewolf in a heartbeat I do appreciate that you don't need a degree to actually transform these figures/

Funny enough, you should look back to fansproject's munitioner being a humvee and the backlash he got... fast forward to today, everyone's a hummer.

Just quit while you're down, you'll never get ahead... cw is not g1. Cw swindle is cw swindle - argument over.

    Nah, not to me man.
I never really got the rage of him being a hummer and not a jeep.
At least Fansproject Munitioner had a good alt and leg mode. CW Ripoff doesn't even have that IMO. When I can I'll likely just get FoC Swindle and a single adapter from shapeways. and call it a day I'd get a muitioner but after market prices are expensive and you only get half the set. So if you get explorer to complete it you might as well just get ROTF or Energon Bruticus and some port adapters from Shapeways, maybe even invest in an OS KO G1 Bruticus and superglue the chest to the Energon Star plug. But with all that you'll then have a $325+ combiner figure :| Sorry Bro.
