How do you justify certain scale issues?

Is there ever a scale rise that bothers you so much you need to think of some reason to justify why someone is larger then another toy. Or find a way that its alright that this one toy is so much larger then the other?

For me it is Armada Optimus Prime and Red Alert. If you stand Red Alert up he is noticeably taller then Optimus. I can't stand Red Alert being taller. So to justify it I noticed if you put Optimus feet up in to hands for supermode his head is above Red Alert which makes him taller. I just feel Optimus should be taller then certain characters and Red Alert is one of them. I wouldn't mind Scavenger being taller but of course he is the same height as Optimus which doesn't bother me.

I don't know how to justify this one yet but how Energon Ironhide is taller then Energon Optimus. Again this I think Ironhide should be shorter then Optimus but wouldn't mind Jetfire being talker who is shorter then the Optimus toy.

I know these toys are 10-12 years old just wondering what scale issues bother you so much you need to find a way to justify it or change something.

I simply do not worry about scale, it is simply never been a major factor in any transformers toyline that had a show or movie attached.

The only way to justify scale is to not consider scale. Seriously. Although I feel in recent years the figures are much, much better in terms of scaling.

Same here. As long as it's in the ballpark, I can deal with it.

Also, sometimes I'll just pose the figures so it's not as obvious. Like somebody who needs to be taller will be posed as standing upright, and a figure that should be shorter might be posed in a way that makes it shorter, like a crouch or something.

Use a figure that's close enough.

Animated Voyager Bulkhead too small? Use the Leader figure.

Deluxe ROTF Ravage too big? Use the Legends figure.

But he is a Mad Scientist, and sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic.

I usually get a close enough one (Animated Bulkhead) or pretend it doesn't drive me bananas
EDIT: Just realised I stole Lego's example, darn it all.

My imagination fills in the gaps between the toys and the huge hulking metal robots they are supposed to represent.

I'm cool if it's in the right ballpark. I grew up on G1 and you just had to ignore scale issues and use your imagination, which was fine when I was 5-9 years old. I got back in with the movie line in '08 and managed to build a fairly big, in-scale movie collection from the first movie through DotM, but eventually realized Hasbro was less and less interested at keeping a consistent scale and I decided to move on from the movie toys. Last summer I went all MP which is great because (among many other things) from MP-10 on up they're roughly to G1 bot mode scale. MP Rodimus and Grimlock work for me, too. Like I mentioned, they're in the right ballpark (and Grimlock was usually drawn standard leader size as the show went on, especially by s3).

I'm surprised mass shifting hasn't been more of a thing in any fiction. Furman mentioned it once or twice early in his IDW run, but you'd think it'd be a big deal, like combining technology.

I don't justify it. I let it consume my life to the point where I lash out at my family and scream at the heavens.
