Well I think it was essential to have something new on the shelf for Xmas.

Now we're going to have

Prime, Silverbolt
3 x Aerialbots, 1 X Stunticon
4 x Legends
2 x Megatron

All in December.

I'm happy about this, very happy.

 

Hmm, wonder if this means Brainstorm will suffer tail end syndrome like Skyquake did (glad I got him on preorder).

 

Since RK is getting them mid dec. I don't expect to see them in my neck of the woods til February at the earliest.

 

Well hopefully the other online stores post their preorders as well. I for one am none too eager to go out and try and hunt for new toys during the craziest shopping time of the year.

 

Even though RK are within spitting distance of me I'll still pre-order from them to assure myself getting these hot ticket items.

Brainstorm is likely 1-1.5 months before Combiner Wars.

 

Except...many places in the US haven't seen any Voyagers beyond Rhinox and Whirl (and THEY hit later than anticipated) and may be swimming the recent deluxe wave, which may impede availability of Arcee and Chromia.
Trust me, us consumers in the US have NO shortage of product for Christmas.

As is, Brainstorm might end up suffering "tail end syndrome" that hit us with Skyquake.

Though, I'm hoping that Hasbro is more aware of things this year and keeps doing their solid job with case refreshers (like what we got this past fall with a rerun of wave 1 2014 Generations)

And there goes some of my Christmas money.... If G1 Megatron's out in the wild, I'll find him as soon as I can get my hands on him, preferably at Retail. But if he's out online only by that time, you can bet I'll jump on him no problem.
As for the others... I really don't care about the Aerialbots, Legends, or Armada Megatron, sorry, they're just not my thing. Optimus Prime and Drag Strip however, I want them, but I'll likely wait until I see them on shelf to buy. Even then, I might wait until after Christmas to get them.

If they're meant to be out in December, about now's the time I'd expect to start gettin' them early reviews  

EDIT: I don't know if it's just me, but around this time, I really start to decide what I want/don't want. I mean at the big cons where all of this stuff is revealed, I have a mindset of wanting everything. But as the release finally gets closer, I start to remember these things are pretty expensive, and I start to only think about the ones I really want, forgetting the others...

 

Of course, this also raises the issue: since Hasbro's isn't changing the SKU, if stores have too much inventory, we might not see some of this stuff well into next year.

 

Depends on how well U.S. retailers went for the Combiner Wars refresh of the Generations line. If they really love it, it is possible some of the early stuff will be on shelves in time for Christmas. Otherwise, come next June we may still be waiting on the second wave. Who knows how well Arcee's wave will be distributed, but I'm not worried about Brainstorm. FoC Blaster, 30th Blitzwing and others keep coming back to store shelves around here along with random Legends class waves. So there is a good chance for Brainstorm to be found.

Keep in mind this is still just Robot Kingdom's preorders, they aren't exactly predicting when the US will get them in stores etc, it's just when they will get them in for sale. Heck most of the times the online stores get the retail stuff weeks or even months ahead of everyone else.

 

Even so it's still a possibility.
Most stores at the moment either have shelf warming Doubledealers and Whirls (sorry Whirl), or have just gotten Roadbuster and Sky-Byte.

If, by whatever Christmas Miracle would cause this, the Combiner Wars stuff hits the US in mid-December that only leaves about 3-4 weeks for the stores to sell enough Voyagers to warrant a new case assortment being sent out, and then being lucky enough to have Brainstorm in it.

 

Sure, HK/Asia tends to get a fair amount of stuff first.

That suits me fine.

 

Keep in mind that Combiner Wars technically shouldn't start until sometime in 2015, leaving plenty of time for Brainstorm to show up at retail.

That's weird- I've NEVER seen a Doubledealer in stores.
