If you wouldn't mind waiting, perhaps it'll be released at Toys R Us in U.S. And it might be cheaper there.
At the rate Hasbro is moving, that might not happen for two or three years. We haven't seen Sideswipe Red Alert, Smokescreen or Bluestreak. Stuff in a few random seekers and that's quite a bit of waiting. That being said, if Hasbro had the courage to release Bluestreak in actual Diaclone colours like he appeared in the 1984 Transformers catalog all would be forgiven.
But Yyu'll be possibly paying more as with Prowl and risking never getting it at all. As for where to buy it, really the best places are all sold out at this point. You say "accessories", are you asking where to get the exclusive toy face? Robot Kingdom's pre-orders will include the Amazon-exclusive accessory.
I might be wrong, but wasn't Soundwave around $150 and came with 4 cassettes, when regular Soundwave cost that $150, with the cassettes $60 for a pair? That's why I thought Bumblebee could be released at Toys R Us, especially since he's one of the most iconic characters. Then again, I hadn't thought of scalpers, which would be a huge problem.
Assuming Hasbro gets the okay from Volkswagen. Takara Licenses =/= Hasbro Licenses I ordered mine straight from Amazon Japan so I could get the battle mask. I have a Amazon JP Prime account so all I have to pay is the cost of Bee + shipping from my forwarding service.
He also had a yellow visor instead of red and the tapes weren't as well painted. Waiting for the domestic version is always a massive gamble since assuming the figure does make it over you still have no guarantee everything will make it intact (MP Rodimus) or that distribution will be any decent (MP Soundwave and Optimus).
Wasn't Prowl's US pricing like, only a tiny bit less than the Takara one? Going by that, I honestly wouldn't wait if you want it.
exactly.. not to mention the wait is probably going to be a while.. unless they fast track bumblebee since he's so popular. also.. we have to remember that he comes with a transforming exo suit as well. so, that factor's in to the price. to be perfectly honest, i wish i had ordered from an overseas e-tailer, but i don't mind paying the BBTS price for bumblebee because it just looks so good. i really think hasbro may have shot themselves in the foot when it comes to masterpiece figures, at least the car bot figures.. i think their pricing is going to lead to people ordering takara's versions, which will get released WAY before the hasbro versions and will be the same price or a bit cheaper. figures like the seekers and possibly magnus might still have a place in the US market, i think they'll be cheaper here than ordering them from overseas. but if hasbro really wants to capitalize on masterpiece figures they REALLY need to start getting them over here sooner and cheaper. you also might risk getting a not so good color scheme with the hasbro version.. i think hasbro's hot rod/rodimus looks absolutely horrid. the dark grey is terrible, and the flames on his chest look awful. and sunstorm.. man, they REALLY screwed the pooch on that one. i would've been all over that if the color scheme was better, that brown that they used is just so unbelievably stupid it's ridiculous. but then again, i did prefer hasbro's blue on MP10, and they didn't change anything with prowl.. so maybe that's a good sign of them not toying with the color scheme in the future.
If MP Prowl is the only car Hasbro was planning on releasing then I am glad I didn't get him,at $80 he was an easy pass for me.For Takara's MP Streak being the same price on BBTS may seem high but I am less concerned when he looks 10x better than what Hasbro would give us.And before Christmas I might just order Streak and Sideswipe to add to my MP Collection. So its like someone else said if Hasbro wait months or even a year or two just to charge the same price as Takara you might as well get the Tak version.Just my 2 cents.
His visor is yellow but I haven't seen a single comment before about differences in paint quality between the tapes. Mine all look amazing.
