    G1 soundwave's weapons becoming batteries, hidden in a battery compartment, always struck me as total genius. That whole toy was so smart.

    I like weapons that become something in alt mode, rather than just being a giant gun mouted akwardly. classics voyager prime's guns, buster primes smokestack guns too. Tfa megs swords -> rotors, although that's par for the course for helicopters. New Springer's is sublime.

    Transmetal Tarantulas. The fully rolling rear wheel splits in two in a way which is rotationally symmetric but not bilaterally symmetric (in wheel mode) and becomes a set of laser-multiturret shoulderpads which actually are bilaterally symmetric.
