It's kind of funny. I have been a near total sucker for Seekers. I've got a shelf that's been on display for years with the Classics/Universe/Generations versions, some Titaniums, the Animated versions, FOC, even the Robotmasters, etc,

That said, I'd be more than okay if Thundercracker was all we got. He looks phenomenal. Perhaps it's because I've been moving away from the idea of all the Seekers being the same due to a side project I've been playing around with, perhaps because the "Seeker completionist" in me has been satiated and I don't desire any more sets of them.

Well, they are heavily IDW influenced and IDW has my favorite version of the Seeker trio. Plus, I don't have any of the other versions. I might bite. I'll wait and see if the other two are made first, though.

I'm happy with my almost-complete Classics deluxe Seeker army, just don't want to have to start collecting a whole 'nother air squadron!

Plus I like Jetfire being the biggest jet robot in my display, Seekers in his size would just cramp his style!

Thundercracker works. He's the IDW F-22 version, which a lot of people (myself a fanboy) love. The aesthetic and colours are perfect. I'd love the other seekers to go with him to make the trio, but it's not a deal breaker if they don't.

I honestly doubt we're getting Starscream and Skywarp.

The design is based on Thundercracker's IDW body, a body he exclusively has in RID. Starscream has settled into his Armada body (which he is confirmed to be keeping for Combiner Wars) and Skywarp, while only shown briefly, has been seen in a different jet-body to Thundercracker. The idea of there being 6 Leader Class figures with 5 being Decepticons seems to be a pretty tall order and if they were going to do all three, I'd assume they'd want to start with Starscream, who'd be sure to be the best seller of the trio. Maybe Takara will do them, but I doubt Hasbro will any time soon.

I'm OK with this. Generations Starscream/Skywarp/Thundercracker can all go on my shelf with different bodies! (Armada, Hasbro FOC and Jetfire respectively) In fact, Thundercracker was the only one who didn't have a place on my IDW shelf yet, so this works out perfectly...

Hooligan would've been an awesome repaint.
Eh... I don't think so. When you already have an MP-Thundercracker it just kinda highlights the hollow underside of the wings and other, "what else do you want? We started from Jetfire and already got this far..." vibe of the retooling. Maybe if there wasn't already an MP-Seeker mold, this would be more impressive. Now, if they'd made each of the Aerialbots this size... I wouldn't have to quote this:
Exactly, all he does is make the Aerialbots look tiny.

I'm getting Thundercracker to display as a separate piece. I already have Ace Seeker Thundercracker in my Classics display, as well as Generations 2011 Thundercracker with my other Thundercrackers (Cybertron, FOC, Bot Shots). I plan to use the leader as my IDW-styled centrerpiece, since I moved Masterpiece TC to my MP shelf.

I'd love for the rest of the leader seekers! They'd make for a good display piece.

    Thundercracker looks so sinister :p

I've never understood why the fandom, which often complains about repaints, accepts and in fact demands this particular scheme. People actually get ticked off if we don't get Skywarp, Thundercracker etc. Personally I see no need for every Starscream (usually) to be repainted 2-7 times.

I've got sets of G1, Armada and Classics Seekers. After them the novelty wore off. That's enough for me, except for Legends/Cyberverse versions since my tiny Decepticon army is a little sparse. Trypticon needs inhabitants.

Otherwise between cost and space considerations I can't justify buying 3-8 copies of the same mold anymore.

I'm done collecting Rainbow Starscream Squadrons.

I'm gonna go ahead and say you might have a small appreciation for the character though... Which is fine. I'm just saying that he's not an MP nor really needed as an MP-stand in.

Don't be knocking my rainbow squad now.

That said, we all know how Hasbro will use the mold. Thundercracker first, Acid Storm second and Sunstorm third. By then, it'll be 2018 and Takara will have something better to start over the cycle with.

I actually demand repaints because there are some molds that I really enjoy:

FoC Seeker? Give me every shade of the color spectrum
    Legends Seeker? Make it rain(bow)!
Leader Jetfire? Please, maybe, but my wallet, oh who am I kidding...LET'S GO!

I am of the opinion that Leader Thundercracker is fine for a Jetfire repaint, but that is the extent of it,I would not want to see 10 or 12 repaints like they are doing with the MP Line, but if they just keep it to the core characters of TC,and maybe Starscream, and Skywarp I would be okay with it.

This. I really don't feel that we'll be getting Leaders of the other Seekers, since the new TC is due to his role in the comics. And I'm fine with that. I'm burned out on collecting EACH AND EVERY SEEKER, and I've only done that with the Classics and FOC versions. TC can just hang out with MP Acid Storm and make Deluxe Armadascream feel inadequate.

Because some of us collect those characters. They aren't just different flavors of the same old toy. Some people actually collect the seekers as a set. I don't get annoyed when people want Prowl repainted into Bluestreak, or Grapple made from Inferno, or when they want Nemesis Prime or SG stuff or whatever. The people who complain about repaints are usually not the same ones who complain about not getting Skywarp and Thundercracker. There's even some middle ground, where people may approve of repaints that have established new characters (Stepper from Jazz, Seekers, etc), and still not like repaints that simply change a character's deco (Atomic Lugnut, Movie Ratchet into G1 Ractchet, etc.). Believe it or not, there are a wide range of opinions within "the fandom" and not everyone shares the exact same opinions.

I'm happy to see whatever they make and I'm happy to pass on the ones I don't like.

From day 1, it seems like folks see repaints as taking up a slot that would otherwise be filled by a new toy...and were that true, I'd understand the complaints.

...but that's NOT the case. Repaints are built into the cost of tooling from day 1. If they can't repaint a mold, they usually won't make it.

What irks me is when we get a straight up repaint with no retooling...it feels cheap. They are getting away from this though and this new ThunderCrackwhore is a good example.

So if they release all the seekers...cool. I'll probably only buy one.

I would LOVE to see a Ramjet or Thrust in this mould but that's extremely unlikely given the retooling that this would demand.
