Of course the people bitching at Hasbro's prices probably have no issues paying 2-3x for Takara (Its Japanese so its better...) and out the ass for 3rd party transformers.

Of course the people who use that arguement are woefully ignorant of the facts and just want to say words to puff out their chest a tad.

Stopped shopping at TRU awhile back. For my money they've always had a higher price on these figures than the Walmart and Target in my area.

It's probably the opposite, actually. Those who can't afford a $5 increase in the mainline won't be able to afford a 3P toy.

Yeah, I own no 3rd party figures. They're way too expensive, plus they aren't my thing... Some stuff is straight amazing, but just not for me...

The only 2 times I bought Japanese to supplement an existing Hasbro line was when I bought Voyager Galaxy Force Starscream and TF Prime Voyager Breakdown...

Thank you for pegging me.... incorrectly.

    I don't like HASBRO prices.
    I don't buy Takara.

The only 3P I have is an iGear Seaspray I paid $13 for.

    I do own a few MP's tho.
I also own a pricy camera.
    And a computer.
    And cars.

Because they all compare to HASBRO Deluxes, like Takara and 3P. Right?

I also complain about the cost of milk, food and gasoline. So I guess I'm a hypocrite because on occasion I have treated myself to a bottle of fine wine.

Considering how much effort has to go into the design and production of each figure, I don't think $16.99 is ridiculous for a deluxe figure. I mean really, that's not much money. Would I rather pay $9.99? Sure. But I have no problem paying $16.99 if it's a figure I really want.

Ouch. $17 is getting close to my tipping point for deluxes. Hopefully there will still be plenty of Walmart & Target sales, get it down to at least under $15. They know we'll be gaga for the combiners, and can't pick and choose so much. Harder to cut out the average ones. There's a number from the last year I would have skipped at that price. (FoC seekers, Windblade, Orion Pax. Half the AoE line I only got because they were $9.99).

Still, I've felt that deluxes had for a good while been one of the best deals on the toy aisles, especially when they're around $10-12. Go price Star Wars figures these days. Your typical 3.75 inch figure from any major brand seems to cost $10 these days, and they have far fewer parts and complexity.

It'll probably end up affecting how I look at RiD, though. Even assuming they'll stay priced a little lower, I'm going to be less inclined to splurge, and that entire line seems marginal to me.

Fun fact: that means a full combiner will cost $90-100 dollars at MSRP, depending on sales tax.

Here's hoping for sales and competitive pricing.

Well this devolved into yet another "HAZBLOW" thread quickly.

Personally I wait for sales and pay $10-$12 and am generally pretty happy with that.

In Canadian we usually pay around that for Deluxes. So honestly it doesn't bother me at all.

Actually, I'm fine with $15 for a deluxe here in the US. Other countries have to pay so much more than what we do here. Honestly, I'm surprised they didn't climb to $20 when Hasbro started to include the comics with them. But when you think about it, you get a comic that is normally $3.99 on the rack so subtract that from the average retail price, you're looking at $11-$12 a figure.

I don't think it'd be worth it suffice it to say that when someone starts with prices being because someone else is trying to screw the consumer it's pretty clear where that person is coming from.

I like Armada screamer more than I thought I would.

I wrote that too quickly because I was in a hurry. I more meant that for the price I don't think the value is there in deluxes right now while on the other hand I think almost every Generations Voyager has knocked it out of the park.

TLDR. Deluxes have been kinda meh for me while voyagers have been where it's at this year.

I'm damned happy that i have Zero interest in the upcoming combiner war series....this year with all the different updated deluxe figures plus several of botcon figures that i decided to rebuy this year , since i had to sell off about 90% of the ones i had in the last couple years...has made 2014 brutal.

2015 i am hoping to take a nice sabbatical for a while off buying transformers...
