Turning Classic Rodimus into Rodimus Prime?

I've been waiting for an updated Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime figure for a very long time, so I was delighted, as you can imagine, to see that we won't have too long to wait to see Classic Rodimus on the shelves (well, at least on Canadian and American shelves, not so sure about here in Ireland!)



But funnily enough, I had a dream last night in which I had a box with Rodimus included (and I had to put the Autobot faction symbol on myself - how weird is that?) and he came with a trailer piece which allowed conversion into Rodimus Prime...

Any ideas on whether there could be such a module made to fit that Rodimus figure (akin to what King Statscream once designed for the Sparks of the Past Rodimus Prime) to move the figure up a class size and finally give us an updated Rodimus Prime figure?

Would any of you want to see such a release in the Classics line?

Or am I just mad for the whole idea?

I could easily see it, bashing the G1 trailer can easily fit him, I'm assuming he's a deluxe. You'd need to modify his wind sheild to expand it so it would look right with the trailer.

I even wonder, since they're making Hot Rod, would that possibly mean a Rodimus Prime? THat would roq.

Ugh, no more rodimus prime....New look, new packaging, same product...Loser.

That's one heck of a toy.
I have a question: Rodimus alt.mode is the truck's cab, right? So that will mean he has to be a new mold? Because I don't see any other posibility.
The thing is that the toy has to look good in both modes.

Actually, an MP Rodimus Prime has always been at the top of my wishlist for possible new MP figures.

So if Roddy's a loser, what does that make the purple chap in your av?

After all, Roddy's first act was to kick the crap out of your friend and followed it up with tossing him out of Unicron's leg, unleashing the Matrix to ruin a certain Chaos Bringer's day and leading the surviving Autobots to freedom while taking a rather... unorthodox route out of Unicron's dying body!


Rodimus-bashing is really getting old, quite frankly.


So, back to the topic at hand:

That new Rodimus is a Deluxe, so using the old cab might work - but it would be interesting to see if a new design could be put together for the figure.


But yeah, I'd like a brand-new Rodimus Prime figure too!

I think the classics Rodimus is mighty neat. I like him a lot. I'm especially happy that the rubsigns were brought back.

NONSENSE! Rodimus bashing never gets old!

I think this would be a more complicated mod than just building a camper for him. The rice boy wing would have to be moved up to the car/cab roof. Probably eaier to just remove it, and build a new one. From what I've seen of the transformation, that thing moves all over the place.

Honestly, I'd rather see a full, original Classics Rodimus Prime, not just a trailer attachment for Hot Rod. We've got a Hot Rod with knees and shoulders, now it's time for Hasbro to give us a Rodimus Prime with legs.
