Maybe some1 who's been at this longer than I can help me with a couple of issues im having. I'm finding a lot of new releases to be too big for my collection and i'm not sure of all the proportion categories. So this is a reference to my idea for the scale I want.

here are some of my criteria:i'll be using revoltech prime, and thus go for the 1986 movie scale, where sunstreaker wasn't much shorther than prime. Also while im including some generations figures (magnus, trailbreaker) others i see as too big (whirl).
ill was also thinking of going for the igear minibots but they seem rather expensive. Can some1 tell me a bit more about these? could some1 post a pic of a couple next to the fp stunticons pls?

cheers in advance if any1 bothers.

I gave up on a scale a long time ago.
Here are some pics I found on Google.
Sorry I have all my classics and Fp Stunticons in boxes.

I love that the MP line is doing such a great job of sticking to bot mode scale. Pretty much what I've wanted since 1984.

Unless you plan on customizing most of your figures to a scale, it's not going to happen. If you just want "close enough" that's hard to judge, using Revoltech figures as your baseline is not going to help.

exactly what isn't going to happen? isn't the classics line also within this scale?
making use of igear-minibots, the custom robots new revoltech figures and the designs from the guy who made the fp stunticons/mt quantron and some of the smaller generations line and maybe wts dinobots i should be ok for the next couple years I thought.

Classics line is not to built to scale. Just looking at your posted pic, Revoltech Megatron is too small for example. Do you just want to collect "Deluxe" size figures, with a few smaller guys thrown in?

If you're collecting classics/generations figures...then the thought of scale needs to be thrown out the window, especially if you're going for the '86 movie cast. Most of those figures have been made in the old classics size in which deluxes are much larger than they are now. I don't see any conceivable way to accomplish what you are going for.

Seriously, that holy scale chart needs to die a thousand fiery deaths. It has caused more harm than good.

I try to base my collection around the MP line. Soundwave is really held in high regards by me, so he is the baseline. I am new to collecting, so I am willing to break ranks if I like a design enough.

most of the deluxe size figures are too big for me. for example see windblade.
i can't find a picture for you but the scale reference i'm kinda using is the movie (1986) where sunstreaker is a head shorther than prime who is just a little shorter than grimlock. The general idea is to have all robots more or less of the same hight.

The closest you're going to get is collecting "legends" scale figures and even then, you'd have to stick with either the commander class or whatever the smaller ones are called.

Scale is the impossible dream. Just isn't going to happen because there are too many factors that make it something Hasbro can't afford to do.

Even in a size class you have heights very from characters that very from seems too tall to seems too short. So mostly you are down to picking size classes that fit into the room you have for display and picking a size class that gives you the detailing and articulation you are looking for.
