Size classes used to represent difficulty where the bigger the toy got the more advanced it was in features and/or transformation and yet, everything has been simplified across the board with size being the gimmick.

If Hasbro want to simplify transformers then why have they done this and introduced one-step changers? Don't these cancel each other out and just make the lines simplified junk?

12" non-transforming Transformers, robo-wresting non-transforming Transformers, one-step changers and then the main line where Legends are simple as always and yet Leaders are simple too. Why simplify the main then make simple sub-lines?

If I want a simple toy I'd buy a Legends or Deluxe and it's because of this that I don't understand selling over-sized Leader Bumblebees especially since Leaders seem to lack electronics nowadays.

Oh boy, I remember the days when we were excited every time a new series got announced because it meant they hadn't decided to kill off the toyline yet.

Why can't we just be happy and buy the figures we want and leave the ones we dont?

Ye it sucks really. Back during ROTF Leader OP was awesome engineering and great fun to transform. Leader Starscream as well. DOTM rolls around and we get Ironhide and Bee who are much less complex... But Sentinel Prime was still a winner. Prime's weaponisers.... and then ULTIMATE Optimus and Predaking. For that price... Really?

Because more and more slots for toylines are being filled with simplified crap that nobody wants. Honestly half the stuff they make now is a waste of plastic. I can understand the rock 'em sock 'em TFs and even the little non-transforming ones that have interchangeable limbs and heads. But one-step changers and the huge non-transforming figures that have little to no articulation and zero paint are just insulting. Not everyone's good at transforming some figures but little kids aren't stupid. There's a reason why we have Rescue Bots.

I agree, but it's probably because the amount of ones we don't want sometimes overwhelms the ones we do want.

Stop acting like this has anything to do with kids. You just want more products aimed at you. You're just going to have to deal with the fact that you're never going to be the main audience. The toys are always going to change based on what kids want, not you.

For you maybe, but I'm quite fond of the AoE toys. Acting like your opinion is the truth is just self entitled fanboyism, and is one of the worst things about this fandom.

I agree with Gryph. The OP, along with many, can't seem to grasp the fact that Hasbro's bread-and-butter is kids. I see their efforts to try to please the older fans. That's not to say that their efforts are always appreciated, understood, or resulting favorably for adult fans. But, I see Hasbro trying.

I just go by what I see. I don't think I'm the main audience nor do I think collectors are. I know this is a toyline aimed at kids. But whenever I go to Target or TRU, the few figures with decent engineering and complexity are gone. Not the over-simplified figures.

Not once did "I" and "want" appear in the same sentence in my first post. Hell "I" is only used once.

I bet Hasbro is also scrambling to figure out how to compete with those really snazzy oversized Jakks figures. I haven't bought much from Star Wars in the last few years, but I almost dropped twenty bucks on a giant Biker Scout at TRU. That thing looked awesome.

Except that the expected sales numbers that came out about a month ago back his "opinion" this time.

Because they mostly suck now. That's the problem. I haven't bought a thing since DOTM since Prime was hit or miss and AoE is equally hit and miss. I'm not saying that Transformers was always perfect because it wasn't. The problem is that I could get excited over figures in the past whereas now I can't for a great many reasons.

I really don't get the whole "though shalt not question HASBRO lest I slay you with my sword of truth" mentality if these white knights.

HASBRO has acknowledged that the Generations line is for kids & adults, do where does anyone get off suggesting that adult members have no right criticizing or questioning HASBRO?

Besides, if kids wanted this simplified stuff then why isn't it selling?

..If Hasbro's market is kids then why are they selling them crap that none of them want? This is money grabbing, plain, simple, money grabbing. "It's for the kids" Is marketing speech for "Hey. We're going to sell you less for what you paid before or more! And we're going to say it's for the kids because Fans won't argue with that and those who do will be shouted out by the rest. And meanwhile we'll train a new generation who hopefully buy this shit product to have such low expecations that when we come out with something we put out five years ago, they'll pay us /double/ what we charged before."

AoE's line is so bad. And the new line for Robots in disguise is looking attrocious as well. Prime's Beast Hunters was the beggining of the deep, no lube at all, fucking, Hasbro has been giving us. DOTM was just the tip. After we kinda sorta accepted that they went full bore on us. Problem is, kids ain't buying their shit either, and neither are we. Third Party market's booming though, I get what I want there. Hasbro let me down and has continued to do such by and large. GG guys.
