The breakout battle pack is $169 I'm waiting until a sale if anything, don't really need it i suppose. If that sale happens again with 20% off and another 10 for myer members it could be around 130-110?

Do you think they would make MP megatron a gun again, I would kinda hope/think they would go for a tank to avoid what happened last time and reach more consumers :/

Honestly I think we were the only ones who went full ****** over it and made it a prohibited import and since we're a small market for their mass toys, we're an insignificant market for the collector items.

Hello all, fellow Aussie from South of Sydney :)

Yeah but a lot of Americans want a tank Megs because a gun will never be sold at TrU.

Did anyone have problem with Encore Megs? I hear about MP-5 a lot but not much about Encore (or G1) Megatron.
When I bought one from a Japanese online shop I had it delivered to my brother in Japan so that he could transform it to the bot mode and ship it to me without any packaging.

$169?! That'll be PASS in caps :mad

Huge thanks goes to optimusfan for adding a poll to this thread   Now let's see how many of us are located where!

Given the state poll raw numbers, I have to wonder how this thread's going to play out vs more established Australia-oriented sites such as Ozformers etc.

I guess we do have the advantage here that we're also able to post in more global threads on the same site, i.e. we're not limited to threads started by or featuring only Australians. So there's that. Conversely, though, a general Australia thread/subforum might wander around all over the place - it'd be difficult to extract the Australian perspective on particular topics. (Admittedly, for most topics, the Australian view is similar enough to the rest of the fandom as makes little difference. The two biggies seem to be importation laws and local pricing.)

Even a giant space gun? I was wondering about a Megatron design which was basically a larger, slimmer Shockwave aesthetic in various grays. All kinds of techno-garbage on the surface to drive home the point that it's a SPAAAAAACE gun.

Or even go the G1 Galvatron route; make a triple-changer with the other altmode being a tank or AA emplacement. Sell it packaged in the other altmode, put the robot mode on the front of the box, have the gun mode only mentioned in the instructions.

Howdy all, from Charters Towers NQ. Not much in the stores up here (and not many stores in country towns) so yeah, online all the way. I'm paying off a few purchases so doing that and fulfilling my MP preorders is about all i can do for quite a while.

That's right. mark it up, so when they mark it down it's a case of "ooh, look at the savings". Of course there are other factors to take into consideration like cost price, but yeah, never pay full retail at Myer for anything. I'm calling $129.

AU$169 is a ridiculous price! Even here at over-inflated Toys R Us it is only selling for AU$128. (Thankfully I got it for AU$95 before the independent stores here (in HK) clicked on to how popular it would be and put it up to same price as TRU)

Myers (and DJ's even more-so a few years back) have always been guilty of the mark it up then have a "sale" and still make a 5-10% return on an item gig. Can't say I miss dealing with non-sale sales.
