Well, I would say that it is given the context of "What do you think happened? Were the legs too poorly designed to merit a recolor? Is it still a possibility down the line? Is it probable even?"

But hey - maybe the reason I think that was obvious is because english isn't my first language.

But, yes - let's drop it...do feel free to give us your thoughts and opinions now that you know what I meant by it though.

I like my Generations Metroplex, but I'm not sure I'd go for a recolour, but if they remolded the design into a new version of Fortress Maximus, I'd grab one the minute they hit the shelves.

And as for Titan Class Trypticon, that's an even higher priority on my wish list.

What happened? Speculation never came to pass into reality. Nothing more or less than that.

Seriously, huge figures are a gamble in the first place, and I doubt many people outside of collectors would have bought a straight repaint of said huge figure. Even if they had released it as a convention exclusive, it's still a huge figure, and the premium on an exclusive of that level probably would not have made it fly out of their stock very quickly.

    You missed out.

They were out in Canada and we never told anyone.

    Ooops. :D

    A 140$ repaint? i'm not sure I'd buy it.

    Cheap.

    Limited. Super fans only.

No costs involved. Only a handful of fans are aware of his existence in the grand scheme of things.

We're talking about a redeco (so 2nd pass) of an already expensive mold here for a character that has a very limited following, not just some random $10 figure...

Maybe it's because it would probably have BotCon exclusive type interest (run sizes of around 2500), but BotCon exclusives tend to run about 5x retail costs. How's $600 sound? Probably sounds good to about a dozen people. That only leaves 2488 more they have to figure out what to do with...

Mostly true, but not entirely accurate. I'll link to the news article I wrote later, but the rumor originated at SDCC from a Hasbro rep. It was at least on the table for Hasbro, however....

....this happened. Retailers just didn't get behind the figure. The figure showed up very sparsely at TRU, but not at the other big retailers. Costco got them in, but only in the northeastern US (not 100% on the region there, I know they didn't hit here in NC).

See above. Want on. It's not happening.

Actually, they were also in Southern California Costco stores.

While I understand the risk, I don't understand why he wasn't at least at other stores instead of just TRU. There's plenty of enormous figures bigger than Metro at Target, Walmart, and TRU from other brands and they've been in stores for months. I never even saw a shelf tag for him. It was like MP-10 Optimus. Was in stores one week and gone the next without a trace. Never hit Costco down here either. Perks of living on the direct opposite side of the world of manufacturers I guess.
