    Which Smyths was that?!!?!?!?!?
    -Please say Dublin.

:wave Oh by the way I'm new here. (ask godsendsdeath I'm a regualr at Tfans) I was told there was a much larger Irish contingent posting here. I'll be heading into Dublin city tomorrow so I'll report any findings (+ I Go to college in Dundalk so I'll be reporting from there come September).
Should we report comic sightings too?

edit: While I'm here can anyone tell me why my Sig won't display? It works fine in the preview and it doesn't say there's a problem.

Did you start it with "img src " or "url" different messages boards work in different ways

    And you have a PM.

Wow cool! Those two are cheaper than Vectore Prime on his own AND weve got Nemesis Prime too!!!! Oh gee, I'm gonna have no money by the end of tomorrow between those bad boys, an entire months of comics, + I need to replace my cousins sleeping bag which I uh... lost andI need shoes! (ah the shoes can wait, transformers takes priority)

Oh and BTW: whos up for the (soon to be annual) Irish Transfans get together?

    EDIT: SIGGY!!!!

Ah well, I went into Dublin today. Lots of stuff to report.

Toymaster and Smyths had Cybertron Swindle, Swerve among others. Smyths also had LoC Hot Shot, Prime and Starscream for €4.49 each.

Forbidden Planet have CD Red Alert for €30 and Optimus Prime for €60.

The Third Place have Binaltech Lambor (Sideswipe) and Swindle for €55 each. Binaltech Roadblast is €70. (Check out their awesome display featuring Masterpiece Prime + loads of alts.) They also have a huge Devastator statue. Not sure about price.

That other comic shop down the road has G1 reissue Prowl and Thundercracker for €50 each. They also had 20th Anniversary Prime but I was afraid to ask how much he costed...

Speaking of comics Infiltration #6, Hearts of Steel #1 and Art of war #4 are all out now.

Right I was in Argos in the Jervis Centre (Dublin) yesterday. They have 1 Dodge Ram and one Ford mustang Alternator (€28.99 each). I would have snapped them up myself but be warned, BOTH of Jervis' ATMs are down.

    Here are the codes:

    Mustang: 369 2006
    RAM: 369 2013

    Happy Hunting!

    LOC Wave 2 in Smyths.

Honorable mention goes to the shop with no name on it, on the corner of Crow St in Temple Bar for the following

    1) Buying Bubble Alt Shockblast from Smyths for 30 Euros and then trying to sell it themselves for 35 Euros.

    2) Charging 25 Euros for an (apparently) MOSC Battlecharger Runamuck that is so badly discolored, you could call it 'Desert Storm Runamuck'.

Wow, I saw that Runamuck today. What are they trying to pull? :lol
They also had Pepsi Prime for €65.
Forbidden Planet had Infiltration #4 (the Draw the World Together cover) for only €4.15

Shortround / Repugnus/ Giant Planet Minicons in Smyths.

They've also knocked 5.00 off the price of Alts.

Which perhaps suggests new Alt stock is on the way..........

soundwave ,classics and titaniums in dublin!!

    hi all.

next xmas came early!! was passing thru temple bar and went into 3rd place, were got new magnus spotlight comic, but they told me that modelmania down the road had lots of new tfs in .
when i got there , a guy at the counter was buying CLASSICS DEVASTATOR AND CLASSICS JETFIRE!!! i went in to gear and ran to nearest cash machine, when got back to shop more stock had been put on shelf, classics, titaniums and masterpieces series.

i managed to get commerative edition soundwave, classics mirage, and titanium scourge, all for 120euro!!the guys in shop ,i think father and son ,were very helpful. they are keeping a masterpiece prime talking version for me!
i could spend a fortune here, and probarly will! saves me looking on ebay.

they have good selection of g1 reissues, and now classics series 1, titanium soundwave, rodimus, scourge, thundercracker , and masterpiece prime and starscream.

great to see these figures finally released here!

Thanks for giving the thread a shot in the arm......

Unfotunately, most of those toys are imports, not 'official' releases.

To be blunt the prices in there are a bit stiff.

    thanks for the welcome.
been using the boards to try hunt down locations of shops ,like when i go on holidays . but now that i found one in my own backyard, id rather buy from these guys. had a few pieces go missing in post recently, which really put me off for a while.

prices here are always going to be off. my sister got me masterpiece starscream for xmas ,i finally managed to coax it out of her that it cost her 185euro in forbidden planet!!!!! the shop in temple bar are sold out but they told me they did it for 50euro less!!

besides its not like smyths or toymaster are ever going to get in alternaters nemisis prime or masterpiece megatron, its good that these guys are stocking the stuff that we want,if word got round ,maybe the bigger stores would go after the classics range too, but thats a bit unlikely!!!!

Because they need to offer stock at more competitive prices, and in greater numbers than smaller 'collector' shops, Smyths and the like will always be bound to Hasbro U.K or at best a gray market importer who can offer them stock in large numbers.

In turn Hasbro's European branches seem to be in a position where they have little choice over what they can offer. Hence things like CD Hotshot and Downshift shipping for 4 months straight, by the time Overide GTS and Excellion were made available, many retailers just plain didn't bother with them because they were saturated with the previous wave.

As for the specifics of Alts, it seems not every manufacturer will allow their car design to be used in every country. Prowl for instance was scheduled then unscheduled, reportedly because it's not an 'official' European Honda car. Rumble seems to have met the same fate. On top of that, Alt distribution is erratic in the U.S. to start off with.
