Bluediamond Walmart has Netflix series 2. Found all but soundwave. They also have the arcee wave as well. Post here if you find any soundwaves .
So I hit up Spring Mtn/Rainbow on my home from work tonight and I really feel the need to vent on this one. I really hope this doesn’t apply to any of us on these boards, I’d like to think as collectors that we’re better than this ... however, if this was anyone here, you should be ashamed of yourself! I walked into the action figure aisle, and the first thing I see are ripped open cases on the floor. They had at least 3 cases of the Netflix deluxe come in and someone had literally ripped them all apart and just tossed the leftovers aside. All the Bees and Elitas were obviously gone, so it was clearly a scalper. I’m not even mad at that ... it’s the way this person left the rest of the stuff that just disgusts me. Don’t get me wrong, we don’t need to do the employees jobs. But when you pull shit off the top shelf, at least leave things somewhat presentable even if you’re not going to put your rejects on the pegs. These boxes were literally ripped open (not cut, but torn). Even the boxes of Earthrise. We’re talking more than 10 boxes of figures. If it said Transformers on it, the now partial case was open and either thrown back up top, laid sideways on the shelf mixed with other figures, or tossed into the aisle. It literally looked like someone did a smash and grab robbery in the department. I’ve never seen an area so trashed in all my years collecting (and I’ve worked retail on Black Friday before). I was just here yesterday, and these toys weren’t on the shelf nor was the aisle this torn up, so I know this was new. Again, I’m sorry for venting, and I’m sure this doesn’t apply to most of our group. I’d like to think we know better and have a little respect and dignity. But someone out there, who I’m sure ghosts these boards for tips, is bound to read this. And to you - You’re a disgrace! Crawl back into your gremlin hole so it can collapse in on you. You give the rest of us a bad name and it’s no wonder store employees hate “collectors”.
The sad part is that most Walmart employees don't even care if you open stock from the top shelves. You're buying in stock, coded product. If you have a set of car keys, you can pop open the boxes without making a massive mess. You literally have to be an uncaring troglodyte to shred the boxes like an badger with bladder infection. It's just making artificial scarcity that's not even warranted. Just WAIT a minute - there's going to be a shit ton more. Netflix figures linger like a bad smell, especially since it's backing up a TV show that has a guaranteed second season. So for anyone that's not finding what they want now - don't feed the scalpers so we don't see a repeat performance of this miserable behavior.
Appreciate it sir. I have managed to grab those 2, so I’m now just looking for SW, much like everyone else I’m sure haha.
This morning the Walmart at Rainbow × Cheyenne had at least one of every Netflix Wave 2 figure except for Bumblebee. That included two Soundwaves (on the top shelf), and an Elita-1.
Nice. Good luck to everyone looking for the Netflixes. I saw one Prime at Fort Apache Wal Mart. Also, just wanted to share another upsetting collector story. I haven't seen really bad repacks in a while, but someone is at it again at Fort Apache Wal Mart. Someone grabbed the entire Marvel Legends Mr. Fixit BaF wave and repacked them with toys over a decade old. It was atrocious. The figures weren't even old Legends figures - clearly cheap toys from very young children/budget lines. Even the BAF parts were from old waves. The boxes had been meticulously cut and retaped. Normally I would just roll my eyes and not care - but this is the Christmas season. Now more than ever, harried parents and grandparents are running around, trying to get last minute gifts for young ones. It is also a time where receipts are often lost or not given. Had I not pulled them and turned them into customer service, there was a better than zero chance of someone accidentally buying this for a kid/collector in their lives. Please, if you see a shitty repack turn it in instead of passing by, at least until January. Don't let someone's holiday be ruined by Captain Greasy Sweatpants and Five Finger Discount Boy.
Geez man, are you serious? That’s just low. And agreed, especially around the holidays, if anyone sees stuff like this, take the couple extra minutes needed to bring it up to CS. I would absolutely hate for some kid to open these up and immediately have their heart broken. It’s one thing to try and cheat and store, but when it ends up cheating a fellow collector or worse, a kid, that’s just senseless. People really are becoming more and more “all about me”, aren’t they?
I honestly don't know. From my perspective, I feel like the toy industry as a whole has very much abused collectors in the past five years. Since the collapse of Toys R Us, I feel like the last thing that kept widespread predatory behavior in check has now gone. For example, the Bo Katan Black series pre-order on Hasbro Pulse evaporated in 5 minutes of dropping. It becomes more and more understandable as to why some people are getting a little hostile towards toy/branding companies and big box stores. Coupled with the fact that people are now making less and less per capita with each passing generation plus the fact that collecting in and of itself is basically an affliction that locks us in at a childhood level, it's almost invariable that you're going to see this sort of behavior. It's the same mindset as the kid that cut in the lunch line, peeked during Heads Up Seven Up or violated the "No Backsies" rule. Times are tough, certainly. I feel like Nevada is a small enough community that we really need to play nice in the pool as collectors and help. Las Vegas in particular is a rough enough place without one of the few clean passtimes you can have being sullied by rat bastards ransacking stores and pulling this garbage. This is the one time of year where we can really help and our silly knowledge of toys can assist others. If you see a confused parent in the aisles, offer to help. Maybe try and reshelve if you see a mess so that grandma looking for Bakugan figures can find them instead of all the toys being scattered in the wrong aisle. More importantly, try to leave something for the next collector. Anyways, sorry about the soapboxing. Hope people are having luck finding what they need.
I agree 100% with this, and for me, there’s no need to apologize. For the most part, the guys I’ve met through here and around town all feel the same way and are more than happy to help each other out when they can. At our core, we’ve got a decent little community of us here. Like you said, Vegas is tough enough. Lived here over 35 years and to be honest, I don’t like the direction it’s been going. So the more we can come together and help each other, the better. It’s just sad that there’s some really bad eggs out there giving the rest a bad name and even worse, leaving a bad taste in our own mouths. On the plus side, in regards to the last year or so, there is now light at the end of that tunnel. Hopefully once this year+ is behind us, that will help with some of the crap behavior. Until that day, lets all continue to be safe, healthy and vigilant that you can find what you’re looking for (despite some retailers’ crap order system lol).
Hey guys, just wanted to give some of y’all a heads up. At some point in the beginning of the year, I’m probably going to look at liquidating some of my collection. When the time comes, I’m going to start locally to see if anyone wants stuff. Then whatever is left, I’ll look to a wider audience, but I want to go local as much as possible. Work and home right now are crazy busy, so I’m not sure on the exact timing but it’ll definitely be after the 1st. For years I was a “buy 2 - 1 to open, 1 to keep sealed” collector so all those sealed figures are locked up in storage right now due to a lack of space lol. Those are the ones I’m looking at clearing out. Unfortunately they’re not the most organized, but they are boxed and stored in excellent condition. I do have lists written out for most of what I have, its just trying to match that list with their location in storage - a 10x20 unit has a lot of space to bury boxes haha. I’ve got near complete sets from the Unicron trilogy, to the original Classic series, through the Movies and Combiner Wars (with the exception of Animated, those figures never appealed to me so I mostly skipped that series). As much as I’d like a giant bulk unload, that’s not realistic so obviously series will get broken up. However, I’d like to at least try to keep teams or sets within a series together. For instance keeping Superion as a set or the Energon Powerlinx Combiner teams (A1-5, B1-5, etc). Anyway, just wanted to give everyone the heads up in case there’s some collection gaps that need filling haha. If you got specific questions ahead of time, let me know and I’ll be happy to answer as best I can.
Most of the combiners are the CW version. I don’t believe I picked up the UW versions but I’ll keep ya posted on those.
