I picked up the only Swindle and Blastoff at the White Bear Ave. Target. This is my first experience with the Bruticus guys. I'm really disappointed. Blastoff is alright, but really light. The engineering is pretty cool though. Swindle just plain sucks though. His robot proportions are hideous and the vehicle mode doesn't really look like anything. Generations deluxes are really failing this year.
Swindles alt mode looks exactly like a 4-wheeler/ATV without a seat or handlebars. :/ I think every one of the combaticons are wretched. I had the G2 set and got rid of it two days later. The praise they get baffles me.
Do they get much praise? I've seen mostly complaints about them. Then again, I think there was a Combaticons appreciation thread I've never bothered going into. At any rate, yeah, they suck. ServO, I got one shipping notice today. Still waiting for the second, more important one, though. I'll let you know.
EXCELLENT Ok...I have to admit that I went in on the Combaticons...got 'em all sitting here right now...I am still super not impressed with the combined mode, but the individual figures are not too bad. Vortex is my favorite, followed by Blast Off, and then Swindle. Onslaught is kind of meh, and poor old Brawl is the weakest of the group.
I just sent my G2 set back this afternoon. I shall not miss you....Heck I don't think I even want to play the game at any point due to all the suck around the toy line...
I, for one, just got my G2 Bruticus set OVERNIGHTED because I needed that delicious eye-searing color in my hands as soon as humanly possible. It is a glorious display of human failure and sadness, and I cackle in glee knowing how many ways they could have improved the figure. QC, too! Head joint with the pin inserted askew, stress marks everywhere. Absolutely glorious in its badness. But in all seriousness, theres a few things i really don't like about it (weeeak joints, the usual PRID complaints of hollowness/conversion) but for $60 it's fine... that said, i'd be happy to pay $20 per deluxe and $35-40 a voyager if it meant we get the old engineers and designers back. I have a feeling i'll be sick of the new team's work VERY soon. EDIT: And now Swindle's hood broke a tab! Lovely. Now I get to return him, too! A veritable symphony of shit.
It really depends on how much you like his colors. I'll bring it to the next meetup if you want to take a look.
