I been wondering this myself. While I don't like to speak for other I believe "The Gauge" was just talking about newer US released figures. How it's a give up to pay for shipping charges when they are just on the shelf somewhere. I can kind of understand that, but your right it really doesn't make any since to do that unless you were getting some kind of discount on your purchases. The price of gas is a killer. However, what I don't understand is that if there is someone with no form of personal transportation and no future plans to get personal transportation why doesn't that person make places like BBTS and eBay their bitches? If I didn't have a car I would mail order everything. I think the "trick" to BBTS is you have to be running a POL all the time. I order from BBTS every month but I only receive two shipments a year. Once in the summer and one at X-mas time. I only pay about $40 a year on shipping charges. I've also wondered why do some people order from TFsource instead of BBTS? I can understand your frustration but you have to admit that BBTS has done more good for the hobby then bad.
I just grabbed the new BH CV Apex and Rip Claw vechicles from the Target in Tempe Marketplace. I left a Rip Claw on the shelves if anyones interested.
Personally... if I had no car and no prospects to obtain one... I'd focus on that first and let the toy buying take a major back seat. But what do I know. How's the quality on these vehicles? I can't say I've been all that impressed with the Cyberverse-sized Prime vehicles, so my hopes are not high for these two. Just curious what you think.
I m a MISB guy but if the quality of PRiD wasn't good,I doubt these will be. Although they look pretty nifty in my opinon lol
No new sightings at any Walmarts yet? Im looking to use those gift cards on the new voyagers, grimlock, blaster and prime...maybe predaking, but i think im going to wait for the ultra or whatever its called.
Does not make up for the FACT that their "Buyers" (Whom I almost got into a physical Altercation with on a couple of occasions) go into stores and buy EVERY SINGLE EXCLUSIVE IN STOCK, sometimes Cartfulls! We went to PMs because they were lurking in the Sightings forums and screwing us. They may have done good in some areas for the fandom, but to anyone in their home area they are the worst thing ever.
I've not seen anything at my local in Tucson. The Speedway and Kolb WM in Tucson is a wasteland. The TRU on Broadway, however, has completely restocked on the Beast Hunters deluxes.
It's crazy. I don't understand why any retail chain would leave thier inventory empty for so long. And it not just the Transformers, the whole section looks empty. I feel like they did put new labels on the pegs at the WM near my work. I'll keep an eye out.
Here is my 2 cents. I like the hunt. it's fun for me and I only go to these places when I'm out and about and driving past them in the first place. If I don;t find it then I will eventually. Most of the time I done have the money to drop on a whole set anyway. And now with the toys line being a crappy as it is I'm not going to be buying anything but MP and 3rd party any more so the point is mute. Kickback was my last in-store purchase and very disappointing.
I feel slightly chagrined as I've contributed to the fact that our sightings thread is starting to turn into the meet up thread due to the lack of scoopage on new product. Oh well, in spite of this the discussion is still sightings related I suppose. And I agree Mike, I'm really not one for running all over town looking for the latest figures either. If I come across them while I'm already out then fine, but I'm not going to waste gas making the circuit of local stores. Admittedly I used to, so I'm not above reproach, but I've since given that up since discovering the joys of BBTS, RK, and TFSource.
I found the new individual Kreons today at the TRU on 3rd & Bell. I also saw them at the TRU on 54th & Ray on Saturday. This is also the time of year when many stores are doing their annual inventory. I am sure every store does it slightly different, but they may not be restocking for ease of counting all their product. I imagine (and hope) that shelves will be stocked in early February
Stopped by 2 more Targets and they started selling the new BH vechicles also, only one had BH Deluxes. Finally other places getting stock not just TRU
I hear you, man. It really is just sad. It has got to be hurting sales to keep it so empty. My only "hope" is that it is for inventory. Of course, it has been that way for so long now, that "hope" is dying. I have no idea what they are thinking.
One Dlx FoC Sideswipe, a small handful of bot shots, two weaponizer BB's, and nothing else at the Alma School/Warner Walmart.
Just picked up my Grimlock to open and nabbed an extra,so if you need one, text or PM Me. Also for you guys that are lookin for kickback there arr 3,yes THREE kickbacks on the shelves right now. Also the entire FOC 3rd wave,4 or 5 pegd full of them. Also a few BH Soundwaves and BB and a single WJ.
I thought I put the location,my apologies. Its the TrU off Indian Bend and the 101. I was looking for a blaster but someone from within the company grabbed them again.
Thank you. Sucks that people within the company grab them up so quickly; I think a certain someone's girlfriend works there ... or something.
