Back in San Diego, and from all the stores I've visited in the past few weeks, College Grove and Jamacha Targets are the only places I've seen the United Cores. No signs of any of the other size classes yet.

For laughs went to market st Ross and all they had were...you guessed it:sandstorms, buzzsaw and night prowler...some flex nightbird, kiddie primal, black series endor Leia and galens, d n d forges

 

Sadly no, my basic MOTUTMNT figures were international variants with word-bubble-less comics so I was hoping he'd have a comic here, but instead he has a cardboard bio card that's the same size as the minicomics. That said, he comes with a TON of accessories:
- a whole mouser that is articulated at the jaw, neck which can telescope a little, hips, and ankles; it can partly disassemble to become his clamp hand and wrist "armor"
- flame effect
- a new removable chest harness
- MetalHead-Roboto's right arm, 3 accessories that originally came with Roboto, and wrist adapter; the arm can be swapped onto Trap Jaw's torso finally

So he has enough going on that he'd be a deluxe for sure, and enough newness that I don't feel like this was a ripoff.

I saw Preternia had a photo of the $24.99 regular price scan so I took it to customer service and asked them for a price match, they scanned it with their hand scanners and said that was fine, they barely looked at my photo so I'm guessing their scanner shows the base price that Target is willing to adjust down to.

 

I'm very annoyed at this price hike (unless it's really a mis-price???) because someone else saw it in another state at this price. Worried Target is gonna be lazy and don't give a crap to fix it widely and some workers won't price match to a random photo of it from social media.

 

Keep in mind, even if for some reason they hose you on the initial price-match, Target's return policy is 90 days for non-Redcard holders, so if you find it cheaper, you can return that one on this receipt. I find they're pretty generous about these things though, especially at the customer service desk.

 

College Grove Walmart has 7 Spikes, 4 Earthspark Megatrons, 3 Twitches, 3 Nightshades, 2 Earthspark Primes, 2 Earthspark Shockwaves, a Detritus, an Animated Prowl, a Wildrider, a Tarantulas, 8 86 Ratchets, 2 Gamer Primes, 2 Armada Megatrons, and 2 86 Sludges. There’s about 3 or so 2-packs on the top shelf, one of which is Legacy. Near the exit, there’s 5 Tarantulas/Elita-1 packs, a Pointblank/Crankcase pack, and a Skullgrin/Dead End pack, though I’m not sure on what their prices are.

College Grove Target has a Spike, 3 Tas Kids, an Earthspark Shockwave, a Twitch, a Nightshade, a Blitzwing, a Coronation Starscream, and an 86 Sludge. Ross nearby has a BotBots pizza pack, 9 Sandstorms, 7 Buzzsaws, 3 Nightprowlers, and a Kup.

Mission Valley Target has 3 Nightshades, an Earthspark Megatron, 3 Nightbirds, a SS Mirage, a Detritus, 3 Code Reds, and 2 Blitzwings.

Sports Arena Target has 3 Tas Kids, 3 Energon Megatrons, 2 Bouldercrashes, a Core Sludge, a Bomb-Burst, a Twitch, a Detritus, 4 Trashmasters, a Code Red, and 2 MPM Bonecrushers. Ross nearby has nothing of note.

Clairemont Walmart has 3 Iguanuses, 6 Twitches, an Earthspark Shockwave, 2 Strongarms, a Crosscut, a Laser Cycle, 7 ROTB Mainline Voyager Rhinoxes, 5 Cloudcovers, 2 Armada Megatrons, a Blitzwing, a Dreadwing, 5 Sludges, and 3 Fallens.

Othello Target has 2 Bomb-Bursts, an AOE Galvatron, a Trashmaster, an Armada Megatron, a Coronation Starscream, and an 86 Sludge.

Balboa Target has 2 Core Optimus Primes, a Core Slag, a Core Sludge, a Core Snarl, a Spike, 2 Earthspark Shockwaves, 3 Nightbirds, 2 SS Mirages, 2 ROTB Bees, an Airazor, a Blitzwing, and an 86 Sludge.

So he has a card like both of the Sun-Man 3-packs, which were also Target exclusives. I’m sensing a pattern here.

Still, I’m interested in buying him. I’m a sucker for characters who have a ton of accessories (looking at you, Red Cog) and characters in 2-packs that combine (the Cyberverse Spark Armors and EarthSpark Cyber Combiners are very much my thing on paper), so I’m likely to buy him. (I can get Mutated He-Man if I want the minicomic anyway.) Part of me wishes that some the toys in this line had more of a TMNT feel to them (He-Man, Beast Man), but they look nice regardless.

 

I don't want to flood this thread with Origins talk, but I've seen those Sun-Man 3packs multiple times including on Friday at the Obama Target, and not once had I noticed they don't have a minicomic, not in the store and not in the Origins thread.

yep, that's what my ross' looked like a few days ago   just absolutely trashed, with only buzzsaws and night prowlers as far as the eye could see.

 

Target in Irvine off Barranca and at the District. Found turtles of Grayskull at Barannca mouse-trap in a go back cart. Someone reported he got one from the same store yesterday and they had them in the back - not sure if they still have any in the back. The last three pictures are the District.
