Snagged me some Alternator Wheeljack goodness at TRU West Hartford this afternoon. No more of him, but they do still have Shockblast, if anyone's still searching for him. This probably means that the other area TRUs will have him soon, if not now. I'd recommend checking the Newington TRU; no one ever goes there, so they hang on to their selection longer.

Wheeljack, honestly, is a bit of a letdown. He's still very swanky (simply by virtue of his Alternatortude) but overall, the Grimlock mold is better. The racing stripes came pre-scratched for my convenience, some of the paint apps are messy (I was lucky enough to get some Chinese pantbrush hairs stuck to the window molding) and his pencil neck is very wonky looking. There's a reason the box photo has him posed looking down in that menacing scowl. Head on, he's a little goofy. Also, what's up with those dumb headlight covers? They're just matte black plastic. Are they supposed to look like that? Ah, well. Here's to Deceptifellow and Prowl being improvements.

Thats sad, I was at Sears around 5. Was thinking - hell no I'm not going to Toys again, no chance they got wheeljack.

So what are the designers to do? Give me pencil necks any day of the week as long as it means the robot head can look up and down, a design feature that was ruled out in Cybertron/Galaxy Force (well Dreadrock has a ball jointed neck, but he is the only one). None of robots and do anything other than look left or right - kinda boring if you asked me.

Please tell me we didn't get to this point because the designers heard fans complaining about "Pencil necks". :stick:

Oh, it's not a make-or-break point, but it's noticeable. Had they gone the Grimlock route and put thin flanges around his "jawline" to hide the neck, or not bothered to sculpt a neck on the head (making the balljoint peg the neck, instead), he'd look substantially better. I may just end up shaving off the offending bits to see if we can't improve on it a bit.

I don't know if you guys have had any difficulty locating Alternator Shockblast (it's been so.... quiet... in here), but the Corbin's Corner TRU and New Britsky Target both have one. With the exception of the one I bought, I haven't seen another Wheeljack. Everywhere I go, it's just Star Wars, Star Wars, Star Wars. If I see one more Anakin Skywalker with Bitch Slap Action, I may cry.

I got back from West Hartford TRU about an hour ago and they didn't have those guys. All that I saw that they had left of Cybertron were Thundercracker, Dirt Boss, Hot Shot and Landmine.

Bethel Target is fresh out of Energon Deluxes and Ultras. I suspect we'll see those sizes of Cybertron figures before the others (2 Offshoots, an Alpha Q, and 5 Megatrons were left for Basic, Mega, and Super).

Yeah, West Hartford Toys had all the Cybertron figures that are supposed to be out right now. Needless to say some of these toys look sick :)

Newington Toys R Us, as of an hour ago, had Cybertron Crumplezone, Vector Prime, and Jetfire (the cargo plane looking guy), as well as 3 of the 500th Edition Darth Vader. I purchased nothing, so they should still be there.

I am driving home for the 4th of July from MA to PA. Have the Cybertron Basics been sighted at any of the TRU near I-84 in CT?
