Ah... good to see I'm not the only one considering it. His design is awesome and I love the engineering. But the design issues are just too much.

 

Please elaborate?
First impressions from Youtube reviews is that he's certainly bigger than his Prime counterpart. But also seems to be more brickish as is tradition for G1 homages. Does this detract from the figure? Not sure I want to pull the trigger on it just yet.

Also I saw something on FB about a backpack "fix" -- didn't really look into it since I don't have the figure but is it that much of a hassle out of the box?

I don't know what it is he just seems off to me. I actually did the fix to the backpack and he now locks all together fine. A part is molded incorrectly and just needs filling down. Nothing intrusive. But his shoulder had scratches in the paint from the string in the box, his shoulder ratchets are WAY to tight and feel like they are going to break when moving them, I don't like the way his arms are connected by those skinny armatures, his shoulder pads same with skinny armatures, terrible ankle tilt and prob more.

 

Yeah, he reeks of 3rd party upgrades.

 

I can't say I've had any of the mentioned issues with mine. I don't know if it's a difference in the individual figures or if my standards are just lax. But I'm happy with mine out of the box.

 

Also, I have acquired a trove of tiny companions for BW Megatron.

I’m thinking that any time I do a meet-up deal with one of y’all, you can have one. I have way more than I need.

Brentwood target has two studio series Rumbles, one legacy metalhawk, and one or two of those RotB mainline triple-packs.

Edit: two studio series wheelies and one or two studio series laserbeaks and a bunch of the mainline armor things like cyberverse spark armors. The studio series core figures were on the outward endcap around the corner from the main transformer bay.

 

Brentwood Target: 1 Origins Jazz, 1 Metalhawk, 1 Needlenose. Quite a few Rise Of The Beasts items.

 

Fairview Heights Target has a couple of Metalhawks and a Fallen.

So who's getting what from the recent reveals? Going for Megs, axel, beachcomber, I have no idea who Devcon is and Dirge I've owned and sold a long time back.

 

This is the first wave in a long time where absolutely nothing pours gas on that collecting fire in me. The most excited I got was the realization that Swerve should be around the corner now that we're getting Beachcomber. That being said, I wouldn't say no to Devcon if I find one in stores.
