I have a loose one, missing one of his tiny dragon arms and his weapons. I'm sure between the lot of us, we can piece a whole one together.
So I've decided to dip my toe back into Gunpla after years and years. I think I still have an old stockpile of un-built Gundam Wing kits back in NC, but access to those is going to be limited. If anyone around here has junker kits or wants to get rid of any tools (or an airbrush) Let me know!
I have some older SEED kits that could be used for parts, kit bashes, customs, or complete repaints. I'll PM you them instead of spamming this topic ...after I get home and can refresh myself on what I have.
Ha I know that feeling. I have been dabbling myself with Gunpla. Check out Gundam Build Fighters and the second season Gundam Build Fighters Try for an anime based on Gunpla Model Building. Also Sky Lynx at Fred Meyer in Beaverton as of a couple of hours ago.
Not sure if I'll end up getting into the anime, but I might give it a shot. That said, by happenstance I actually chose a HGBF 1/144 Try Burning Gundam kit to build this weekend. (There are apparently 3 versions of this one already. The one I got is the one with the firey clear pieces) I am blown away at what they're doing at 1/144 scale now, and I think this kit might spoil me for what's possible at 1/144 non-RG! I'm only halfway through the build and already the articulation is phenomenal. On the other side of things, I got my son a 1/144 HG Heavyarms Custom because I figured it would be a good entry level kit. It pretty much was, and he liked it, but already wants something more substantial. I had forgotten how those old 144 kits used to be - there's a reason it was under $10... EDIT: Also - Why do I like the Gundam Astray Red Frame so much? There are like 20 versions of it, and I feel like I want all of them... Are you Gunpla guys on another board? I feel like I want to discuss this more, but I don't want to clog up this thread. Maybe we'll create a subsection of the local group? (I'm still not on Facebook) EDIT 2: OK, so I've posted on this thread, so maybe the Gunpla discussion can move there: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/groups/tfw2005-oregon-local-group-d650-custom-discussion.html
Eh, not like this thread gets any other discussion these days. A ton of people here just started buying online or stopped buying retail stuff altogether so sightings are few and far between, might as well use it to talk about Gunpla I don't know if they're Gunpla or not (not my thing) but I know the Portland TFAW in particular is doing this huge Gundam model kit building push. They had some group come in to do a build session and they are stocking tons more of the stuff. Here's the FB post I saw awhile back: https://www.facebook.com/PortlandTFAW/posts/884856998303746 The manager in the Portland store changed so a lot of their focuses are shifting. Last time I went in there, it looked like they were deemphasizing action figures and pushing D&D like stuff and model kits. I'll probably move my box to Milwaukie as they are still heavy into action figures. If you sign up for a box and get like... three comics a month (I think), you'll get 10% off to use on stuff like this (I think these would qualify).
True. Even if I wasn't confining myself to Masterpiece and third-party Masterpiece toys, there's very little reason to shop for Transformers in retail stores anymore. (Though I did ask here about Clampdown and then found him in a Target.) Well, I wouldn't go that far.
The Fred Meyer stores in and around Milwaukie all have the Combaticons Deluxes, RID Fracture deluxe and Onslaught, if anyone is looking. Nothing really good. The consignment / antique mall next to the Milwaukie TFAW has the brand new Star Wars Black wave in one of the main aisle cases -- I know a few folks who still read these posts collect that line. Prices are a bit higher than retail, but not too bad -- the seller wanted $25 for Luke and Kenan, $30 for Ahsoka. The other three figures were $22 each, I think one was Phasma, one was Finn in the Stormtrooper outfit. Kind of surprised to see a case of the figures there at close to retail. They also had an Ultimate Predaking, the Target exclusive Prime one, and a G2 Megatron that's missing the missiles that has been there for over a year in with the section for vintage toys. Didn't see a lot of other TFs this time.
True.. combiner wars is pretty much over... until Titans hit, there's not a whole lot of reason to go out looking for stuff. unless some mega sale comes along, i'm pretty much done with the Transformers in stores now.
Ummmm so im at Fairview target and im looking at 2 Lukes, 2 Ahsokas, and 2 Kanans for the black series. You guys better hurry!!!
Not sure how many people post in the sales thread these days so I apologize if this post causes issues, but anyways im back in the swing of completing my Beast Wars collection and Im curious if anyone could sell or trade me these figures Im looking for: Skorponok Transquito B'Boom TM II Megatron (or hell even Cryotek) BW II Galvatron Insecticon Drillbit Armordillo Skyshadow Buzzclaw Airazor (both regular and Transmetal) Bonecrusher Wolfang Jetstorm Terrorsaur (both regular and Transmetal) Lazorbeak AirHammer Sonar Prowl II (owl) PM me if you can help me out!
Just received my 2 Die-play Rusty Primes. These are insane, I don't think you can get more movie accurate. Glad I got these as the "Battle Damaged" one's being shown are not accurate to the movie, maybe a little in robot mode but not vehicle mode.
I'm not a huge fan of Rusty Prime, but that figure is fantastic, and for what it is, that deco is incredible!
