I can't believe yall are seeing motormasters and red cogs. Every target between Eugene and Salem are just mountains of arcees, primes, and bulkheads.
I’m pretty sure why that one Target has Motormasters and Red Cogs on the shelf with proper tags is because it’s a brand new Target, so they just set the store according to the near future reset and got all new stuff. Other stores, like the one in Beaverton, are likely holding onto their new stuff for the reset. Some stores just don’t care and dump on the shelf, some stores are hardasses about selling before the reset. Come early August these figures will be everywhere and will go online too in time with the reset. By mid August we will be like “Nothing on the shelves but Terrorsaur, Dinobot, and Red Cog”
My impactor and spindle are supposed to arrive today. I thought someone here wanted the Impactor but I don't remember who.
Motormaster should be arriving at BBTS this week or at least for me. As well as Titan Metroplex but I honestly think I’ll pass on a titan this time. Or just wait a bit…
Hey gang, what are THE go-to spots for toy hunting in PDX? Other than mainline TF, I pretty much just collect classified series. Looking for good spots for both, but I only know of Rogue Toys for Portland hunting. Any advice is greatly appreciated. If there are any particularly bleeding-edge targets/wallyworlds pls hit me with those too.
I'm not sure what's going on with the PDX Targets and Walmarts but it almost seems like they are avoiding stocking TFs. Or there are a lot of TF buyers that don't engage on this thread. Or they are all getting stolen? I see the same in the Lego aisle. If you go just a little bit away from the Portland metro area, shelves are full of TFs and Lego. Really bizarre. I highly recommend the Gresham Toy Shop for new TFs. They order cases of the new TFs that a shop like them are allowed to order. The owner is super nice and would be able to tell you what he can and can't reasonably order.
There is a ton of collectors in the PDX area. Tons of them, and then a fair number of scalpers. We are only a small fraction who post here. I’ve even seen people on this forum from PDX who don’t post in this sightings thread. I know of two confirmed scalpers who hit Clackamas Target almost every day. Not just “I can’t find stuff so it must be scalpers” you sometimes see but actual “my side hustle is reselling toys and I’m going every day at noon when they stock.” Whenever I need to go out of town to Eugene or Seattle and hit Targets / Walmarts along the way, they are loaded with stuff. Absolutely stacked. Any time I go to Eugene for a family thing I come back with a great haul. Already a listing for Red Cog in this area from a scalper on eBay. Searching their items for sale and they are selling every Target exclusive, so they just cleaned out one or multiple stores recently. Competition in PDX is fierce. Sadly, Gresham Toy Shop is a 30-minute one way drive and it’s not something worth it for me on a regular basis, so I order everything and anything I can online. I don’t even bother stepping into a PDX area Walmart or Target if I can help it anymore.
All the more reason why it's distressing that Cosmos is going to be so hard to find. I already have a tentative trader for TR Nautica. I hope both of his Cosmos comes in. I'm still offering up TR Nautica or Tidal Wave or any other rare TF I have for Cosmos. As I said open bounty.
This perspective is very funny to me as a longtime Eugenite. I always feel like our shelves are just swamped with junk or outright empty, but maybe the grass is truly always greener. But this does give me an opportunity to proselytize: whenever yall come down, please hit Replay Toys. They're the best in the biz when it comes to treating the customer right, and their pricing is always fair.
Compared to Portland, Eugene and Springfield Targets are great, haha. I always make it a point to stop in when I’m there just to check out the shelves. Walmart though… there is one Walmart in Eugene which has a tiny toy section that is just awful. I love Replay Toys! Just wish he wasn’t closed both Sunday and Monday. It’s the same as my days off so any time im ever in the area, his store is closed, which is a bummer. Nostalgia Collectibles is also decent, sometimes you’ll find some older stuff there loose at a good price.
I'd bet that was Green Acres Walmart, which is awful all around lmfao Nostalgia isn't bad but I RARELY find much in there for TF worth snagging. Their book selection is great though!
Managed to snag the Legacy Creature Collide set purely for Goldbug. IDK if anyone is interested in the other figures from the set but id be willing to sell them (if you can meet me in the Mall 205 area) for pretty cheap
Was wanting to get that set but just for comic impactor. If that's the one you're trying to get off your hands, how much are you selling it for?
Not to revive a "dead" question, but are Rogue and Gresham Toy Shop the only game up north for solid toy shops?
