well i finally saw it today at imax on route 53. definitely enjoyed it. i must admit the critics scared me but i disagree with em all. loved robots fighting everyone.

sure for us hardcore fans there are plot holes that are obvious, but to the generic census, it's another hollywood blockbuster that people will definitely pay to go see for the action.

if other folks are down to seeing it again as a group i'll be down myself as well. i know gonzo was interested in the past and i know jason said he'd be down. i know i missed a lot of stuff so i'd like to check out other things.

in the beginning of the movie, during the shanghai scene, everytime they showed the chinese police cars, all i could think was alternators prowl....


that double constructicon cons confused me for a sec as well. i saw the movie with 8 other people and no one mentioned the fact that there were two of each. obviously, they aren't familiar with the characters and also they were all stuck on the action.

 

Does it come in that color, or is it going to be painted?

For anyone looking Walmart on Farnsworth and Butterfield in Aurora had multiples of The new scouts, The new Deluxes ((Ravage etc.) and the new voyagers (Mixmaster etc.) Did not get any as money is tight and I really do not care for any of them except Jetfire. Saw the movie today and I really enjoyed it til the end scene where it seemed rushed and filled with holes and clone graphics (Constructicons drones etc.) I wish they would have been like oh heres what happened to the Autobots too, but it was worth it just for the Prime Megs fight in the woods.

The "humor" was not funny. The Star Wars comparison was about the misplaced gags, and had nothing to do with what planet it took place on. The SW prequels do indeed have the same fart jokes. You can lighten the mood without going for cheap, out of place ******ity. I laughed a couple times during Star Trek, and not once did anyone break wind, or tackle someone while high (has anyone ever been high!? That doesn't happen...), or have their leg humped by a smaller individual, or fall down because they were clumsy. And for a movie that the makers & fans are saying is "aimed at children", the language is filthy. I don't care if it's "everday life". Ever think that maybe "everyday life" isn't the best thing in the world? Maybe children killing people and having sex isn't a good thing? Oh, but it's "normal, everyday". Please.  

And, since this is a SIGHTINGS THREAD: Addison Walmart on 53 & Lake had a bunch of Ravages as of 9am this morning. Still no sign of HABB.

 

No Teletran 1 Playset will come in the Orange/Rust color.

To be fair, I tried creating an IL-movie-discussion thread, but it got locked. See my earlier post.

I have appealed (via PM) to the mod to reconsider. I cc'd Tim Formas, because he's a regular here and an admin. The mod has read my PM, but not yet responded. Tim has not yet read it (according to read-response flags).

Rule 6 prevents further discussion, but I'll post an update if I hear a response or a decision. I hope the mod is not simply ignoring me.

 

I read it, so it's being discussed among staff. Can't promise anything, though, one way or another yet. I can definately see the positives in a separate thread though.

 

This is getting a bit out of hand. At this point we dont need a IL ROTF thread, nor do we need to bother admins with this.

Three days ago a seperate thread was a good gesture but now I think this shouldnt be an issue any longer.

 

Any jetfire sightings would at least be nice. I've seen posting in threads across the states, but it seems like Illinois is being left to the wolves so to say. I know he is probably in stock at every store, just not on the floor as local Targets, Walmarts, and TRU's are packed to the rafters with Prime and Megs. We just need to find somebody cool enoguh to put the stuff out

 

like i said, target peterson actually checked the back for any cases saying wave2 and no luck.

they also said they are allowed to check in the back and open 1 cases only per person. not sure if thats true but thats what i was told.

and usually tru puts everything out and keeps nothing in back. seems like walmarts are best bets.

id hit up the one on north ave but such along cta ride for nothing.

 

I'll look what we have in the back at work on sat. The prob is the wave 1 leaders aren't selling as well and most stores are still clooged with them. So the majority of the backstock will be wave 1 leaders. If I find some wave 2 leaders boxes I'll try and hook you up padre.
