It must have expired with the new 4th of July deal in place. It's was good for free shipping and 5% off I think.
He's available through other stores online so I would say that he is not an exclusive. Though I wouldn't expect to see him sitting on to many other outlets shelves, TRU tends to be the best place to start with high priced items like Devastator. Hopefully we get lucky and he's at Costco or Sam's Club like Metroplex was. When they discounted him way down I was able to snag one at the Fort Wayne Costco for $50 when they didn't sell through their pallet!!
I didn't see a tag for Devy on the shelf strips at Ft Wayne TRU so maybe he gets out out this weekend. They did have G1 and Armada Megatron. One each.
Ft Wayne TRU got in two Devaststors, which were both gone as soon as the store opened. I grabbed one, another guy grabbed the other.
Stopped at the TRU in Merrillville, Indiana tonight. According to an employee in that store who bothered to look it up in the computer, Devastator has a street date of 7/29. He said even if they had Devastator in the back, he wouldn't sell it to me. As I traveled south and got to Indianapolis, TRU Castleton at least had the tag on the shelf for him. Hoping he gets a wide release at the end of this month... Those of you who found him early, what's your review? Worth the price tag?
I'm not sure if it's "I got a new Transformer so it's the greatest ever" syndrome but I love him. The actual Constructicon figures have a few minor issues (Mixmasters arm/elbows have little articulation, Scrappers legs look weird from the side, Bonecrushers friction tabs won't lock sometimes, Long Haul is huge, no weapons). But the Vehicle modes are awesome and Combined/Gestalt mode is Breathtaking. The Gestalt mode is super sturdy and I have zero worries playing and posing him. 10/10 for gestalt 9/10 for alt modes 7/10 for robot modes. The only Transformer I have that I like more is MP Soundwave. Well worth the price! ***EDIT*** Todat I noticed a few of the robot mode issues were a result of me mis-transforming them. Scrappers legs are fine. Bonecrushers friction tabs work but you have to have the legs lined up perfect, but they come undone easy. In arm mode the tabs don't work of his head is facing out. my bad.
The Target at Glenbrook had 1 each G1 and Armada Leader Megatron. 2 each legend Warpath and Groove. And 2 each of the deluxe Streetwise, First Aid, Blades and Rook.
I stopped by earlier today, they had two legends rodimuses and three devastators, one of which i nabbed for meself
So the employee who told me he wouldn't sell a Devastator to me, even if he had one in the back, until July 27th either didn't know what he was talking about or he was just being a jerk. Great. Glad Devastator is getting out though. I'll look forward to picking him up soon...
