Does anyone know who pfunkpearl is up in Canton, OH on EBay? I would like to buy something off of them and cut out shipping and ebay fee's. I will try and contact them thru ebay, but it will probably get flagged. If this is you contact me, thanks.
Picked up Origins Jazz from Oakley Target, they are all in back. I’ll do my photodump from Japan later today
Grove City Target had one Origin Jazz on the shelf, plus a case of the Evo W2 Voyagers. Hilliard-Rome Walmart has 2 each of SS TLK Hot Rod and Crosshairs.
Hilliard-Rome Target has 10 Lios. Trueman Target has a Tarn, Lio, and Twincast. Plus 2 each of Breakdown and Needlenose.
Graceland Target has one more Core Slug left if anyone else has been driving themselves insane looking for these things like me. Two Scraphooks and one each of Needlenose and Hot Shot at Morse Crossing Target.
Alrighty here’s my photo dump from Japan! I did get more than just the three MPs and more pictures than just TFs but for the sake of the thread I’m limiting it to mostly what I saw Transformers wise. I was lucky enough to be there just as the sakura was blooming so I did throw in my favorite pic of that. My favorite thing though was that there was a Bandori Fan Fest on the day I happened to have free and decided to stop in Akihabara again without knowing that was happening. Transformers aren’t as mainstream as they used to be so a lot of hunting there is checking every single store that might have some. I’ve had the most success at Nakano and Akihabara
Looks like you had fun! Neat shops too! And, Goddammit...TFC Reissue Book-Style G1 Megs...I hate myself for selling you!!!
I love photos like this. The glass doors and blue lights in the "Transformers Satellite" displays make it look like they're keeping toys in freezer cases. I was fortunate enough to visit Japan a couple times in the early 2000s. Similar, but also very different. I remember bemusement at how some places had then-current US Transformers toys at a hefty mark-up compared to the local Japanese stuff, reversing the situation back home.
Well at least you can find Inferno in Japan! Thanks for sharing these! So cool! I also dig the Cherry Blossom bonus pic!
It's such a pain to import from Japan, now. So expensive. I'd go for the sights, the TFs (and Super Sentai Mecha), but I'd also go to the shops to get me some CDs. Tatsuro Yamashita has an amazing catalog of music. The man can sing beautiful ballads, pop bangers, and shreds the daylights out of a guitar. His best works were 1978-1982, but all of his catalog has gems. Do yourselves a favor and listen to Ride On Time, Funky Flushin', and Silent Screamer. YouTube keeps pulling his stuff left and right.
Kroger in Englewood has a case of the Legacy Deluxe wave with Wildrider. First new anything I've seen in a Kroger in a looong time.
I’ll be honest outside of like display figures I don’t recall seeing Inferno or a single Stunticon available. There might have been some at Mandrake in Nakano but I was having to shop quickly so I didn’t notice them if they had them
Pulse at least makes the MPs and Takara exclusives easier to import but anything else is super expensive. The biggest thing is Gunpla that I’ve noticed. An MG one is usually eqivalent to $35-$40 but its $55 in the States
I picked up a Netflix Rattrap/Optimus and Sparkless Seeker for $17 each at Eastgate ROSS. They still have 2 Blackarachnias ($10), 1 Pipes ($10), 1 Netflix Optimus/Rattrap ($17), 1 Netflix Sparkless Seeker ($17). These were scattered all over the toy area and/or hidden, so I put them all together to make it easier for anyone who's looking
Thanks for checking! I was about to go there to look for a Coronation Starscream - I only want the throne lol. Saved me a trip.
