Not just TRU. I miss Kaybee and Toy Liquidators. Johnny's Toys. Children's Palace. FAO. I didn't put as much time and effort as I did into growing up and getting a real ass job so I could afford all the things from my childhood that I couldn't then... just for them to no longer exist.
Looks like you got it working....lol... It didn’t feel like my b-day until I got my Johnny’s castle key in the mail...lol. Le sigh...
Western PA/Eastern OH either had, or was in driving distance to, Mac's Toy World and Family Toy Warehouse, as well as Kaybee and TRU. ;_; It's all gone. And let's not forget... *sings* "Hills is where the toys are! "
Out of all these Toy stores, It's still burned in my memory walking into Children's Palace and seeing toys from floor to ceiling! No empty shelves, no empty pegs, and no miscellaneous BS toys just to take up space!! I'm talking about REAL toys...Transformers, He-Man, G.I. Joe, MASK, Star Wars and the list goes on and on...
God I miss children's palace. That place was a dream as a kid. I still recall seeing Fort Max on the shelf there. Utopia. My kids would go crazy there.
Yeah, that one gets me the most too. I still sometimes go to tri-country and just sit in the parking lot where it used to be. To think that I was that close to so many diaclones and pre-power rangers Sentai megazords... and didn't even know how important they were. I still have most of my Multi-force 14, i remember getting him because they were completely out of Transformers and one of the employees was like "it's a secret, but this guy is from the same company as the Transformers, the little people that come with him even fit in the pilot chairs and a bunch of the Transformers". Blew my mind.
Children's Palace was dope as hell when I was young. To this day, I still remember proudly walking in there with my allowance money and buying my G1 Fort Max. And Hill's! Got Sludge and Grimlock there, back in the day. Shit, I'm old.
Kroger in Centerville has a ton of the "patrol" figs from Siege, but it's all old figs. No weapon dudes. Also... they have ER Wheeljack, Cliffjumper, and Ironworks, all at a $25 price point Huh.
Unless you have a Kroger card and the sale that is going on and the prices might be cheaper or the same as what retail is now
